Sudden (but mild) testicle pain in spin/cycle class

I've been doing spin/cycle classes for a while now, and have had no problems. Last week, mid-way though a class, I had a sudden (but not very intense) pain in a testicle.

Since then, it's been a mild off-and-on ache. The slight pain does not seem to be in the testicle itself, but rather where the testicle connects to the body. It seems to be influenced by my position as I sit/lie.

Any thoughts? Of course I'll see a doctor if it continues, but I've never heard of this type of pain from this type of exercise.

Did you accidentally sit on one or twist them up in your shorts? I've ridden both road bikes and taught spin for severall years and vaguely recall the sensation you describe (maybe, once) but it was apparently not serious as my balls still work. When in doubt, go get a degrading, clinical fondle from your doctor. It is possible you could have "sat wrong" and pulled something.

I think I was actually "standing" (i.e., raised off of the seat) at the time I felt the 'twinge.'

Maybe it was a upper groin pull? can you stretch it out and see how it feels?

If not ...please don't let it linger..go to the doctor and let him check it out...and one last thing....FEEL yourself up WELL...and see how your testicles feel!
if one is swollen or not feeling right ...please go to the doctor!

    Hope you get better!

I wouldn't worry too much it happens sometimes, but yeah if the pain doesn't go away check it out. Also make sure you don't have any lumps or growths.

I've had this happen to me, but it was on a regular bike rather than a spin cycle. Try to adjust the seat if possible... it did work in my case.

You should be somewhat cautious as this can be caused by a varicocele, which is basically a varicose vein that becomes distended during exercise. The main problem with these is that they can worsen and cause testicular atrophy ( shrinkage) and subsequent testosterone level reductions. You might want to some snug briefs or a jock and see if the problem still happens. For a lot of guys this is all that's necessary and additional treatment is not needed. If the pain continues though do be seen and let a competent medical doctor make the call. It can be embarrassing yes, but not nearly as embarrassing as losing a testicle.

I don't know if you wear cycling shorts with a chamois (pad), if not that should help, but it might sound like there is something else going on. padding makes all the difference.

Maybe you were accidentally sitting on one of your boys?
