So I'm new to this site, just trying to feel it out. It isn't hard for me to make new friends or to fit right into new crowds. It is hard for me, however, to meet gay men when you're not at a club. Although I enjoy a drink once in a while, the ones at the clubs don't seem to be dating material. In my past relationships I have met men in the strangest ways, it would seem that hasn't happened in some time. I don't know if I send the wrong message when I'm out or not, although people say I can. I'm not looking just to date but to make some new friends.

What's the best ways you have met other gay men?

I have tried match.com for about three months and gave up on that. I haven't tried "scruff" that is new to me. Online dating is difficult for me, probably because I haven't had much success.

I have no luck finding any gay guys ever. I'm in NY and I don't think anyone is gay or into me. I'm sure if I went to a gay club I wouldn't even be able to find a gay guy that's into me icon_neutral.gif

Funny how on a gay fitness and sports site not more people have the idea of trying gay sports clubs. NeweffinYork must be full of them.

Out of all my friends and acquantainces, none of them I met at a club. I met a couple of them at a fundraiser and from there, I got to know their friends, etc. My biggest suggestion to meeting friends is try to talking to them about something you're both interested in.

Example, when I met my friend Felix, he was really into technology. We got into taking about apple versus pc and we hit it off. Avoid talking about careers and ex-bfs until you get to know them more.

I'm not from USA, and only been here a month. I can barely even navigate around the area that I'm in, and I've only been to NYC 3 times in my life, with the paths to the places I was going to planned out in advance.
