    Hey RJ people,

In the video bellow is a recording of a Range Rover running over multiple motorcycle drivers out on a group ride. Followed by the bikers chasing down the guy and beating him up in front of his family.

Who do you think is to blame? So far only the motorcycle drivers have been arrested...but not the Range Rover to my knowledge.

There are always two sides to the story. The Autoblog link is just one. From what I heard, the guy in the Rover had his kid in the backseat or something. So he had to choose.. get the shit beat out of him or take off.

From the other reports, it looks like the bikers were at fault.

    Here we go..

Two bikers who allegedly terrorized and beat a driver during a wild chase on the West Side Highway have been arrested — and one of the motorcyclists injured in the chaos may be paralyzed for life.

One of the perps, Christopher Cruz, 28, of Passaic, NJ, was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing in the attack on Alexian Lien.

Cruz was the one who allegedly swerved his bike in front of Lien as he and other rowdy cyclists roared up the West Side Highway around 1:30 p.m., causing the dad’s SUV to bump into his ride.

Another suspect, Allen Edwards, smashed in Lien’s rear driver’s side window with his helmet, sources said.

He surrendered to the 113th Precinct in South Jamaica, Queens, on Tuesday morning, sources said. He has not yet been charged.

Police are still hunting a third suspect, who smashed in Lien’s driver’s side window. They believe he may also be the one who yanked Lien out of his bashed-in car after a wild chase, starting the vicious beating of the dad.

The initial incident and chase was caught on videotape by a helmet camera by one of the bikers — who later sickeningly posted it on YouTube.
Early on in the fray, as Lien initially sped off to try to escape the menacing pack, he ran over 26-year-old biker Jeremiah Mieses of Lawrence, Mass., sources said.

Law-enforcement sources told The Post that Mieses’ spine was crushed and that he may now be a paraplegic.
“He was intubated and placed on a respirator last night in preparation or surgery. He couldn’t talk,” one source said.

Mieses’s family posted a photo on the Internet of a badly bruised and cut Mieses hooked up to machines in the hospital.

“My son just got out of surgery. Now we have to contend with his situation that he will never walk again,” Meises’s dad, the Rev. Edwin Mieses, wrote on Facebook.

Jeremiah Mieses’s wife told WBZ-TV in Boston that her husband had gotten off his bike to help a pal who’d been knocked over.

“He went to help someone,” she said.

Cruz remained at the scene in Harlem and was not among 20 to 30 bikers who followed the family up the West Side Highway onto West 178th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights.

As Lein fled, the bikers raced after him.
At one point, they forced his vehicle to the side of the road, where the bikers slashed the father’s tires while one opened the driver’s door and tried to pull the terrified dad out, sources said.
But Lien managed to speed off again, with the bikers in pursuit.

They finally caught up with him again in Washington Heights, where he was dragged out of his car and beaten in front of his family.

The Range Rover came to a stop there because of heavy traffic and its deflated tires, which had previously been slashed by the bikers.

Lien went to the hospital for stitches on his face and chest. The dad, who also suffered two black eyes, was treated and released.

The video footage stops before Lien was attacked.
A police source said many of the bikers who cops have spoken to so far haven’t been any help in their probe.
“The motorcyclists are being uncooperative, those that have been interviewed. … They’re full of crap. They’re saying they didn’t see anything. They’re saying, ‘I was just standing there.’ It’s a joke.

They’re tracking down the others. They went out to Brooklyn last night to look for a third guy.”
Cruz was briefly hospitalized and released for minor injuries, including lower back pain, authorities said.

Yes always 2 sides to a story ... a couple hundred bikers and and an SUV with a wife husband and young daughter ... a motorcycle rider that purposely stops short in front of the SUV ... and 2 bikers that start pounding the windows ... yes 2 sides to the story ... now here is my side of the story ... He should have backed his SUV up and started ramming every single biker that was surrounding him. I hope they catch the bikers that broke the window drug the guy out of the car an beat him and when they get set to prison, I hope they get beat down good. ... end of my side of the story.

immobilarityisNOTaword saidyou know, reading the comments about the article in the ny daily news website, it disturbed me. what irked me is hearing how bloodthirsty folks were where they were like "the driver should have killed all those bikers" and even "the driver should have been armed with a gun and shot them up". is ALL that shit necessary? all because of what, a bunch of folks INCLUDING the driver in the range rover don't want to share the road and act like they own it. no offense but nyc drivers CANNOT drive for shit. geez, they act as if they own the road and drive erratically and arrogant as all hell. so this really is just some ego driven disaster on the part of the bikers and the range rover driver.

    1. seeing how everyone basically condemned ALL the bikers as "thugs" and how they deserved to be ran over. keep in mind, it was a FEW people in that group that were out of line. NOT everybody. the bikers in the GROUP OF BIKERS that decided to do whatever were wrong. they shouldn't be labeled as "thugs", "criminals" or whatever. it's just a biker club.

    2. don't care if the man has a wife and a baby in the car. doesn't give him the right to run over a bunch of bikers. he went from being a victim to being the victimizer. imagine if the man was on a crowded street full of traffic, it would have been a total disaster. he was WRONG for that. plus he basically did a hit and run fleeing the scene of an accident. can also understand why he fled to because he was in fear of his life BUT still... he was dead wrong for that shit running over a bunch of bikers.

    3. folks are quick to assume that the guy that got ran over had something to do with the incident. he MAY have just happened to be in the way and got hit. did he deserve it? NO. once again, two wrongs don't make a right. even sucks now because the man is paralyzed. i look @ this as it could have been someone i knew that could have happened to ride with them basically riding along with the group, chilling or whatever THEN getting fucked up over some nonsense. then to hear people saying the guy deserved it? icon_confused.gif nobody deserves that shit.

    4. honestly, if i was a part of those group of bikers after he ran the people in my group over, i would chase his ass too, fuck up his ride and beat him up. i can't blame those bikers for chasing his ass down and beating him up. the driver made a bad situation WORSE by doing that. he was better off playing the victim. sometimes, fighting back is NOT the answer to a problem.

    5. it's sickening to see how people think that the solution to such a situation is through violence, pain and death. folks wonder why america is fucked up. folk's minds are too geared for the wrong shit.
I think you missed the key fact..

Land Rover versus motorcycle.. Land Rover will win EVERY time. Not sure what those squids were thinking trying to punk the dude in the Rover. And the one that actually did the brake check.. The blood is on his hands. He started all of this. icon_rolleyes.gif

I remember driving on the Dan Ryan/Lake Shore Drive exit in Chicago and suddenly being swarmed by Motorcycle drivers on both sides as they were racing around. It did spook me slightly to suddenly see all these motorcycle driver but I maintained my speed, took a photo for instagram, and 2 min later they were all gone.

To me what looks like what happened was the Range Rover was trying to speed/push ahead of the pack then ended up nudging a biker who was in front of him. But the Range Rovers reaction to just plow through the bikers was way over reacting. Why hasn't he been arrested? or the wife?

This article has photos of both the Range Rover driver + the guy who is now paraplegic. http://nypost.com/2013/10/01/cops-bust-bike-thug/

I don't believe the driver wouldn't have had run over a motorcycle if he wasn't afraid for his and his family life.
What the motorcycle drivers did after that is what makes them "thugs". If they had only called the police they would have been in the right side for been the victims of a run over.

There is no doubt after watching the video , that the biker passed the SUV and then jumped on his brakes forcing the SUV to bumped him and caused him to fell ..
There is no doubt , that at that moment , all the bikers were angry at the SUV driver , and there is no doubt that the biker was at fault .. That said , the SUV driver shouldn't have driven over the biker and his motorcycle that was in front of him , i understand he feared for his life being encircled by the bikers and that he panicked .What the SUV driver did , isn't different that a person being attacked and robbed in the street shooting his attacker to save his life ..
It is so sad nowdays , that violence is so prominent in our daily life ..so sad !!

Incorrect ... you can clearly see that the motorcyclist swerved in front of him then look back and hit the brake. Every motorcyclist knows that that car, truck, suv, etc, cannot stop as fast as a motorcycle. The motorcyclist did this intentionally and as a group the motorcyclist were intentionally harassing the drive and family of the SUV. Pack Mob. Sadly for the guy that got run over was part of that pack mob and he got what he deserved for being part of the antagonistic mob, the driver had every right to feel that his life and the life of his family were being threatened. He could have done a lot more damage to the bikers had he intentionally wanted to hurt them. The bikers clearly wanted to hurt the driver.

    Precisely.

I think some think he did it deliberately.

The video on youtube now has this message:
"Black Range Rover ru..." This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by michelinman900.

There is no copyright claim once you put it on the internet for all to see and you can't get a copyright on anything over night. More like it is now legal evidence.

There were over 200 complaints called into the police prior to the incident about the motorcycle group breaking many laws. So most likely their actions caused the first incident to begin with. From what I read it was something extremely minor but that didn't matter, they swarmed the truck like a mad mob. The intimidation factor had to have been through the roof. These were people blatantly breaking laws, I would not have stuck around to see what they were capable of, of course now we know what they were capable of. I am on the side of the man who was trying to protect his family.
