http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/10/02/1243330/-Republican-shutdown-is-not-playing-well-in-Peoria-Or-Kansas-City-Or-Sacramento-OrThe overwhelming number of editorial boards came to the same conclusion: That Republicans — specifically the tea party caucus — are to blame. Even those editorial boards that don’t like the Affordable Care Act think shutting down the government is a bridge too far.

Republicans and teabaggers just need to move on. It's a lost cause. ACA is here to stay.

IF ONLY the voters will remember who voted for the shut down....and who to vote OUT of office at the next election.

A non-story. Everyone knows that most newspapers are little more than cheerleaders for the democrat party.

Except those owned by Rupert Murdoch. But please, would you give us the by-name newspaper breakdown for your claim, compared to all other US newspapers?

I said most, not all. Anyone who cannot see that most mainstream news media is slanted way to the left needs to have his head examined. There's plenty of easily accessed alternative media nowadays to inform yourself of the other side of the story.

"Anyone can see" is not statistical evidence. As I asked above:

"...please, would you give us the by-name newspaper breakdown for your claim, compared to all other US newspapers?"

You made the claim about "most" news media is "slanted way to the left", and that "most newspapers are little more than cheerleaders for the democrat [sic] party". Now please provide your objective evidence.

I already have a job, and it's not doing simple research for you. The answer is obvious to anyone objective enough to see it.

gumbywillbeatyourass saidman.. they all are to blame.

Based on what? Your inability to understand the facts and just repeat a talking about.

No, in fact they aren't "all" to blame which is an intellectually lazy way to say "I haven't bothered to explore the issue."

This is why I don't trust the conservative media anymore. Blaming republicans for the shutdown? What next, blaming them for the economy and massive debt?

I already answered this, but it's nice to see you express a thought, even if someone else probably wrote it for you.

No, it's not Obama's fault the Republicans are now held hostage by a small radical right minority that refuses to fund the government because they are crybabies who can't win elections or open votes on the floor of Congress.

In fact, this shutdown has absolutely nothing to do with any law. It has to do with right-wing Republicans' refusal to do their job and fund the government. So nice try, but the public is no longer falling for these right-wing disinformation campaigns.

Republicans have reached a new low.

No, you made a statement without providing citations for proof. If you know your claim to be true then you already have the evidence, it should require no additional research or effort on your part. Just state or link it. Surely you didn't just pull that statistic out of your ass?

And it certainly requires no research on OUR part - it's YOUR claim, not ours. We just want to see YOUR evidence, for YOUR claim, that YOU made. None of us made any claim at all, we have nothing to prove.

So put up, or shut up and withdraw your statement. Thank you! icon_biggrin.gif

What's plain as day is the reason John Boehner will not call a vote on funding bill sitting right there in the House is because he's scared it might pass.

To have a person who is third in line in the Presidency completely abdicate his duty because he is terrified of a few nutty right-wing conservatives led by Ted Cruz and Rand Paul is pathetic. Boehner knows better; he is a coward.

OK, there appears to be a concerted effort by the radical liberals on here to post Republican-bashing political topics in the "All Things Gay" folder in an effort to get more eyes reading their topics.

These topics belong in the "News and Politics" folder. Your attempts at forcing the majority of RJ members (who AVOID the "News and Politics" folder because they hate this kind of crap) to see your topics will be met with a balance of topics pointing out the Democrat's culpability that I will post in the "All Things Gay" folder if you don't stop.

I know for a fact that two of those papers endorsed Romney last year, so the liberal media argument is bogus. Editorial boards can be very conservative, even in more liberal areas.
