Whoa! thanks for posting. That was fun to watch and the data analysis appealed to the nerd in me.

Damn she seems pretty crazy at some points though.....

I really liked her. It is incredibly difficult to see smart academics willing to be involved with social behavior they might not feel identified with. She simply avoided all sorts of mistakes smart people tend to make, she became more realistic about her expectations and voila she scored a husband.

Or you can just go out and meet people and not depend on social dating networks to find someone.

The old fashion way, you know?

If she had to go to a lengthy process to "hack" her online dating, she was trying to hard. I'll admit, she can do research.

She looks kinda old and overweight. I feel like older men probably go for younger people. Maybe, that's why she got no hits.

I watched the video and I think she cheated. There's no way she's popular than Smileygirl1978 or the 3 girls in the picture. They look hotter than her.

She was way too demanding with people and I would never use the point system on people like that. Just go what you feel, it sounds really simple.

She is really analytical. She had a 14-hour conversation on her first date. That's really amazing.

I bet they were observing her information and were intrigued by the fascination of reversing engineering for online dating. icon_lol.gif

You're right. I will never be smart enough to comprehend what's going on but I don't need to. I might as well be ignorant as rock!

    Can you expound?

From skimming through the video it looks like she changed her ad to something generic an escort profile online says. Then she settled for an middle aged Jewish man on a niche dating website.

If anything it looked like she compromised more than the beginning.

She feels really socially unaware for some reason despite talking so well. Like she's the fat girl that reads twilight and buys team Edward masturbating toys.

Edit: Why does she only date Jewish people? Why not a hot sexy Mexican?icon_lol.gif

LEANDRO_NJ saidAll I have to say is that I've being more successful dating the old fashioned way by meeting with people in person, or through friend's references! people online much like the lady on this video waste an awful lot of time finding dates or the right person, by relying on all sorts of ways to find the one except by just being themselves! I can't believe I watched the whole video, what a waste of time!

When are people going to realize that a human being is not a database, a culture, shared hobbies or past times, religion, or a bank account. Am I the only one who can see past all that, and rather concentrate on a love connection based on nurturing a relationship with a person for what they are!? When I first met my BF I didn't feel we were a match, at all! yet during the friendship period we gave each other plenty of time to appreciate, and ultimately fall in love with the person we both were before we met.

You know when you're trying to hard when you have to bring up reverse-engineering to find true love. That's Silly, love can't be solved with a simple mathematical equation. What are you, robots?icon_lol.gif

I liked her, too. I also can see her difficulty.

I also fall into the quirky, nerdy intellectual category that just doesn't mesh with the "I like ice cream and music" cookie-cutter proles.

She's a middle aged American woman who is obviously a talented quant, fluent in a foreign language, and can program. That's freakin' rare. Nothing scares the every(wo)man away like a highly intelligent and driven potential partner.

Thank you for posting this video. I wonder why dating sites don't implement algorithms and data points that would lead to a more substantial relationship. I suppose maybe they like superficial dating and casual relationships, because it would cause repeat customers.

At times she reminded me of Anne Hathaway for some reason. I loved the video; when I first learned how to do power point presentations in HS, I was hooked. She speaks really well too - clear, concise, and to the point.

Any more of your favorite TED talks anyone?
