May I Suggest an Actual Ignore Thread Option?

I know people are going to say just don't look at the post, but if I never see another race thread popping up again, I'd be content. I'm sure some of you might like to ignore certain topics as well. I enjoy Pop-Music threads, but I'm sure some you guys can't stand them.

Then there's limiting temptation. Anyone trying to hit single digit body fat%, knows you shouldn't keep goodies in the house. So to avoid opening a car wreck of a thread, that will create a negative response, I think a possible (Ignore Thread Option) might be a good idea in order to maintain a standard in the way we want to communicate with RJ members.

I've suggested this many times in the past. Nothing yet.

Glad to know I wasn't alone on that thought. icon_smile.gif

I'd like to see a "LIKE" and a "DISLIKE" button for posts. That way, if someone posts something really shitty, rather than engage them we can simply hit the "Dislike" button (or "Agree" or "Disagree" buttons would work too)....In fact, we could take it a step further and add a "You Are A Major Douche For Saying That" Button. icon_lol.gif

This knitting site I use, ravelry, has the most functional forums I've ever seen. For posts they have buttons educational, interesting, funny agree, disagree, and love. I like your idea of like and dislike instead of ravelry's agree and disagree. The problem with disagree is I feel that disagree isn't a true/false toggle; if you disagree you need to explain why.

Instead of RJ's quote they have reply to thread and reply to individual posts. When you reply to a post there's a link in the original post that expands in place to the beginning of the reply when you click on it; the full reply is down below in order as usual. And replies to replies are in there so it can be nested.

That's great to have those options to define a post for members. Instead of disagree or dislike you could also add "pointless".

Maybe they don't read our posts that often icon_neutral.gif then again I shouldn't assume they'd read this. Let's call RealJock's customer service line icon_biggrin.gif
