I guess it's going to cost people "more than their monthly cell phone bill."

...the government's official Obamacare Facebook page was riddled with people expressing sticker shock over the government's high cost premiums after struggling for hours to wade through the technical failures vexing Obamacare exchanges all across the country.

"I am so disappointed," wrote one woman. "These prices are outrageous and there are huge deductibles. No one can afford this!" The comment received 169 "likes."

"There is NO WAY I can afford it," said one commenter after using the Kaiser Subsidy Calculator. "Heck right now I couldn't afford an extra 10$ [sic] a month...and oh apparently I make to [sic] much at 8.55/hour to get subsidies."

A single mother of two said she is in school and working full-time while living "75% below the poverty level." She said she was shocked to learn she did not qualify for a healthcare subsidy. "Are you F'ing kidding me????" she wrote on the government's Obamacare Facebook page. "Where the HELL am I supposed to get $3,000 more a year to pay for this 'bronze' health insurance plan!?!??? And I DO NOT EVEN WANT INSURANCE to begin with!! This is frightening," she wrote.

Well, tough luck. You all voted for it. Now you MUST purchase health insurance. Oh, and if you elect to pay the "tax" instead, well, get ready to take it up the ass, because the tax is just $95 this year but goes up to $700 (or more) next year.

Isnt it a beautiful and comforting thing that a law cannot survive without a real consensus of the country.

The reckoning has to come sometime. The law would have to be retooled at some point. And it is up for debate every time the US wallet is examined via the budget process.

I've read several articles from reputable news sources that tell of lower-than-expected pricing.

Trust southbeach/franktats/(insert sock puppet of the week's name here) to quote some biased, inaccurate, unknown of source of "news" when it fits his propaganda's agenda.

(and, since you love my use of 'em SO much, Southbeach/whoever you are THIS week, here's one more for you!)

Are the links blank for a reason? Does someone need to posses the special decoder glasses to see them?

Right. Verified people on Facebook are posting some pretty surprising numbers in savings. They are rather pleasantly shocked conservatives, btw.

One fellow in particular could not get over saving 600 a month and a deductible lowered from thousands down to hundreds.
That's one happy Republican. And there's many more.

For some reason Frank-who-CAN'T-get-verified thinks RJ and its members exist on a little asteroid in outer space. Guess what? Everyone has access to google and FB etc and can see what's going on.

Frankie, every day you're sounding more like Southbeach. How is that possible? icon_lol.gif

    From the Obamacare FB page:

Robin S Dean: After not being able to even get online for the last 4 days for the NC Exchange I have just decided I am not going to participate in any way and if the IRS tries to levy any tax or penalty on me I will file a petition in the Tax Court with tens of millions of other Americans which will be consolidated into one big case before the Supreme Court that should end Obamacare. I will just pay my doctors for their services. Imagine many doctors will opt out of this system and take on private patients. Hey, maybe we can create a private patient exchange that would be exempt from Obamacare provisions!

How indeed? Is it the hysterical anti-Obama posts that make you wonder? Relentlessly posted all day long, just like southbeach1500 used to do, a continuous spamalanche?

Or is it the blatant falsehoods, distortions and misrepresentations, many culled from biased US Right Wing sources, that prompt your comparison with the oft-banned southbeach?

Blatant falsehoods and distortions, or in other words, "Lies! Lies! Lies!"

OK, I'll keep posting facts, properly sourced, and you keep writing "Lies! Lies! Lies!"

Another gem from the Obamacare FB page:

Irene Waldron: My daughter must pay $1,272 a year for an Obamcare policy with a $5,000 a year deductible plan, or be hounded by the IRS to pay penalty. She does not have an extra $200 a year, let alone $1,272 - what an incredible scam. Obama lied.

No, I was sticking with the topic. Something you are trying desperately to avoid.

Here's another good one from the Obamacare FB page:

Alex Montgomery: This is hilarious! I'm so glad I don't have to sign up for this crap. My neighbor just told me his premiums through this are only $20 less...THAN HIS MORTGAGE!

Well actual government data would be nice. But I see mostly negative comments. But just like yelp people happy with things very rarely post.

If this facebook page is supposed to be proof of something the ACA is in more trouble than I thought. I found 1 positive comment in about 50 posts.

The one time you tried to participate in a topic and you blew it earlier today. Why not just go back to posting icon_lol.gificon_smile.gificon_biggrin.gif like you usually do?

Here's another one from the Obamacare FB page:

Linda Tognoni: No wonder the president and congress have exempted themselves! Obama's plan to destroy America is working -it's called the unaffordable healthcare.

    This one's kind of frightening:

Robert Carmack: This whole Facebook page is just creepy. Photos of people smiling and touting benefits, sayings on how wonderful your government is and what they do for you. Reminds me of what you would might see if you went to North Korea and how all their people are so happy with what their government does for them.

Uh musclmed, these are individuals posting on their own timelines, not on some managed FB page.

And you're quite right with this, " But just like yelp people happy with things very rarely post."

i went on the healthcare.gov like page on facebook. It isn't pretty but again it would be nice to have data for total people signed up.

Its mum from the administration. And baffling since its software and wouldnt it be important to actually know how many people have signed up.

Funny if it wasn't healthcare we are talking about. Another entry from the Obamacare FB page:

Will Clark: Thanks for keeping the call center open. I called them up, explained the current problem, and got a bunch of attitude. When I asked for a supervisor they transferred me to the spanish line. Now I get to worry about the caliber of person they hire to handle sensitive information. Thanks Obama.

to be fair there is a built in discontent when metering out what people think they DESERVE.

Health/health insurance is a serious topic. I bet most had not thought about it for themselves recently. People will project and lash out at a system that may hold there life in there hands.

It certainly happens with new patients, they see you as a barrier to what they want. Sometimes there is attitude but usually it dissipates as they get to know you as someone on their side. It is more severe in the younger " I think i am educated" crowd.

So a rant board is what it is. We just need data and its just a hunch now, i am sure if it was favorable. We would be hearing about it.

I think that's exactly right. But these are real people having real problems. I wonder how many of them will be audited by the IRS?
