" the House Republican leadership's position at the moment is the result of happenstance, blundering, and a continuing inability to understand the priorities of both GOP and Democratic colleagues."

Great article by the very conservative Byron York, in the very conservative Washington Examiner:

The summary is that even conservative Tea Partiers are seeing that they've screwed up.

Stumbled? How about raced headlong into it?

Wasting valuable & expensive Congressional legislative time to hold over 40 unsuccessful votes to rescind the Affordable Care Act over the last 2 years is not "stumbling". That's about as intentional & deliberate as you can get. With the country struggling with serious economic problems to be resolved.

And now that Republicans have finally gone too far, and boxed us all into a budget crisis over the ACA, this guy says they "stumbled into war"? Like it was an unintended accident???

No, Republicans declared war on the ACA as soon as it was passed. And also declared war on President Obama himself in the first month of his first term.

But no one can do shameless history revisions like the Republicans can, I'll give them that. "Stumbled into war" over Obamacare - that's really one for the books. icon_rolleyes.gif
