Clearly they were a threat to national security...

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The government shutdown is being felt close to home for some locals. They say they're being forced out of private homes on Lake Mead because they sit on federal land.

Joyce Spencer is 77-years-old and her husband Ralph is 80.

The Spencers never expected to be forced out of their Lake Mead home, which they've owned since the 70s, but on Thursday, a park ranger said they had 24 hours to get out.

Ooops, should have read the whole article, Frankie.

"The Lake Mead properties are considered vacation homes; one of the lease requirements to own a plot is people must have an alternative residence."

Ooops. That doesn't say that the Feds can evict people at any time.

Maybe you should read through the lease agreement.

    Try again.

You should read about what shut down means, lol.

I do declare, but you have somehow memorized every one of SouthBeach's trademark phrases. icon_lol.gif

Not unless you provide a link. icon_lol.gif Obviously you've read it, right?

You know, Frankie, I'm a little amazed that you'd prefer the Republicans unfunded socialism (free healthcare at hospitals paid for by those who have insurance, by hospitals gouging the crap out of them) rather than the ACA which means the free loaders pay. icon_lol.gif

Perhaps Consevativejock is right about the endless whining; that you are in fact a Lefty. icon_wink.gif

No, but I'm not the one taking the position that the Feds have a clause in the lease that allows them to do this, you are.

No dear, I merely made an observation about that particular couple. The lease states you must have an alternative residence as it is considered only a vacation cabin. They didn't.
If you want to know what I really think, without your hysteria, it's that the Park Service should have let them all stay. icon_wink.gif
