Well as most men know, there are a lot of men that are now shaving their pubic hair. I have always wondered about that. I ,just for fun, tried that once. For me it didn't turn out that great. I was just wondering if anyone does that and what everyone thinks about it.
Also how does everyone do it. Last time I tried I got like a lot of little pimple looking things and it was very uncomfortable. Just if you could give me some ideas of you experiences and techniques. Thanks...

Let me guess. You forgot to put rubbing alcohol on after. So many guys make that mistake.

I have never heard of putting the rubbing alcohol on after... Thanks.
I will try that next time, if I decide to do it.

Do you have any techniques of how I should go about this procedure? I know I am making it sound worse than it actually is.

Actually, do NOT put rubbing alcohol on after. Eesh. Try some fat free blue cheese salad dressing instead.

Don't shave with a razor. If you must, it's a brand new blad and you throw it away after (this is what I've read).

You're better off using a beard trimmer and cutting it very short but not shaving it to the skin, which is pointless as it only lasts a few days before you get whiskers, unless you keep shaving it.

Yeah...i think the curious adolescent in all of us got me to do it when i was like 16 or something. Never did it again...to me theres absolutely no point in it...and anything that involves shaving, trimming, waxing, beautifying...is out of the question and works to reduce a mans "manliness" if you want to call it that. Of course shaving your face would be an exception.

Some may say it increases your "visual size"....whatever with all that nonesense. Show some confidence and come as you are....Confidence is always attractive.

Respect to the gazillion men out there that shave everything on their body.....just my sincere opinion.

Before i get a tidal wave of complaints...let me clear up something for those who do shave...im not saying your "insecure" for shaving...what im refering to is that when i see a person in general...who doesn't immediately show signs of "conforming to the standards" (isn't men shaving today's standard??)-to me it shows a confident person not swayed in any way by trends....thats all folks!
    Thanks,

Oh McGay, you've done it again (yep: Mr. Magoo reference). Too funny: young men all over the world are saying: "oh man, he MUST have been kidding...this alcohol stings!" Yes boys, he was kidding.

I'm thinking some careful, conservative manscaping down there will usually suffice (as opposed to shaving your cock & balls "bald"; the itch & stubble afterward is not pleasant as McGay indicated).

A lot of guys (and their partners) might also like the additional visual length and increased sensation that may be gained with an occasional trim of top and side pubic hair.

Theres nothing wrong with doing what ever you want to do, I have no preference what other guys do in regards to body hair. On some guys smooth looks good and others hair looks good.

My ex used to shave body hair and he had some kind of stuff he would put on it, to prevent razor bumps. It probably depends on what your hair type is.

I just googled razor bump products and came up with this which is what I think he used ..

    http://www.tendskin.us/

that is tend skin liquid. I can't say if it worked or not.

Now the nightmares are going to start again. . .

I groom my groin. In fact, I bought one of those Norelco trimmers someone here mentioned. It works great. It's, like, all tingly.

I know this is shocking, but in all the years I've groomed my stuff, I've never had anyone ask me before we make a date if I shave my balls. Nor have I ever gotten naked and had someone say, "I'm sorry, I can't have sex with you. Your penis is too smooth. I can tell you've been beautifying yourself."

I really don't like flossing somebody's teeth during fellatio.

    Very very funny Aero.

I imagine, with extensions of course, you could even make cornrows, or a Princess Leia. After all, 70s retro is in.

I only completely shave my balls, and after years of doing so, I never get that "itchy" after-shave feeling anymore.

As far as the rest of the hair down there, I just trim it a little.

So, what's it called when you completely shave down there? The "Yul Brenner?" :P

muscly1985, Try the BODYGROOM by PHILIPS. It works on everything. Do not use rubbing alcohol or you will be walking funny for a while.

McGay, what are you trying to do to the lad? :-)

    hey muscly,
I suggest being very careful with electric trimmers. There are good for getting the bulk of the hair out of the way. You have to be careful not to catch folds of the skin.If you nick yourself at that stage i would wait a few days to razor shave. Use a new razor like suggested above. I like to soap up with hot water to soften the hair. You can use soap or shaving cream. Try them both and see what you like better. Then just stretch out your skin and shave. Sometime you have to go over spots because it's hard to see all the hairs. If you shave too close to the sides of your legs your legs you can get more irritation in the fold of your leg. I suggest just go up to the fold on not on your leg. Also as you go down the taint. Rinse and check for missed spots. After your done if you have irritation like mentioned above that happens usually when you first start shaving. I use cortizone in those area's and it seems to help. Keep us posted and let us know if any of these tips work.
    good luck.
P.S. I love it shaved. I love the way it looks and i don't like hair in my mouth.

Cutting and trimming pubic hair is a tradition and encourage by our religion in my country. I dont really like shaving it, it really itchy when the hair start to grow back so I somethims just trim it a little bit.

However , I love guys with untrim pubes. There are really rare here. In fact I love guys with a lot of hair under the armpits, pube, on the chest , around the pit on , on the stomach and on an on......

I would just trim it really short than shave it all off. I used to do that though. I would use aftershave gel on it after I shave. Just don't get it on your balls it will totally burn you.

I think the landstrip is pretty sexy thou!

When I was in college the girls would shave it into a butterfly. LOL.

Mmm Your inspiring me to come up with a new style!

Thanks so much everyone for your advice... So far I think the best idea is to cut it close them use and electric razor. Last time I used a regular one and it was the time it didn't work out that great.
Well I think that I might try it sometime soon. Mostly when someone is not home. I think I would feel a little odd with someone there in the house listening to me.

GQ, if you get the fangled kind, be sure to stock up on mustache wax. I wear the unfangled kind.

    I use Veet. Whole body.

Why i do it... well... it's a part time job thing (see pics). Just like tanning and baby oil. 1. it makes what little muscle i have seem more defined. 2. it allows the tattoos on my legs to be clearer.

If you have sensitive skin though, don't Veet... that's just 4 min of chemical pain!

    Burn baby burn!

I don't think guys should do anymore than a little trimming. Most of the time I think they should be left alone. Shaved is bad, trimmed down to almost nothing looks strange and cut into designs and shapes is the worst. Men should look like men, not prepubescent. Just my opinion.

In my humble opinion, men that shave their pubic area about vanity and high maitenance. It probably doesn't stop there but leads to legs and underarms. My sisters do that! I prefer men who are wash and wear and a little rough around the edges.

    Veet is cool.

Black Men's Shaving Powder (at Walgreen's or Albertson's) is awesome.

Nothing feels nicer in the gym or in water than being cleaned up head to toe.

If you're gonna'a shave, do the stinky parts FIRST: under your arms, trim your groin area. Do whatever you want with the rest. Nothing looks tackier than I guys who shaves and has 1.5 inch underarm hair and smells bad.

Personally, I've been shaving for about 32 years. I like the way it feels (cooler, and more sensitive), looks (sexier), and keeps odor down (nowhere for those critters to grow), as well as removes dead skin and makes for sleaker lines.

Shaving gets to be a pain, and, on occasion, I grunge, but, not for long.

Nothing is worse than smoking though. I can smell a smoker ten feet away. They just plain stink.

Shaving seems to be a debate worthy subject. For what it's worth, I think a trimmed guy is a hot guy. Bush is totally gross and shaved bald is just no fun and takes away from that oh so nice manly appeal.

Trimming is great for the bulk of the area, but there are some areas that I like hairless. Take for example the very top of the inner thighs or on either side of where everything is attached, ha.

If you do shave it is important that you DO use a new blade and only use it ONCE. Also only shave with the grain. Any shaving, be it face or otherwise, damages the skin. Some of us feel that worse than others too. So take care.

    For any shaving:
It's best to shave with the grain, in as few strokes as possible to minimize the damage. Then, to buy an extra couple of days, before you get all stubbly again, pass the razor with a light stroke (little to no pressure), ONCE against the grain. Follow everything up with some kind of "first aid". Some type of aftershave or healing lotion depending on where it is that you shaved, and pay attention to how sensitive your skin is. Don't further the skin damage with harsh products.

Remember that is perfectly okay to want to be neat. Just be mindful of how it makes you feel and how often & detailed you want to be. Furthermore, I suggest looking into some laser hair removal! It lasts a long time, can be made permenant, is safe and relatively painless. I'm totally going to invest when I get the cash icon_smile.gif
