The coronation of King Corey in the special NJ Senate election on Oct. 16th has hit a road bump. Polling suggests people are uncomfortable with "brand Booker" and his preoccupation with a national profile and its attendant self promotion.

I imagine he'll still win. Lonergan is a nut.

Sadly, rubber-stamp Booker probably will win icon_rolleyes.gif

The Dems will take the Va. governorship in Nov. Whether it is accurate or not, this will be touted as a defeat for the Tea Party since it is their candidate, Cuccinelli, who is loosing. Polls show him behind as much as 10 points.

Agreed - barf - but to have McAuliffe win. I'm no fan of his. Of all times a decent Dem could have run with that scandal breaking down there.

It took someone as repulsive as Cuccinelli to make McAuliffe seem like a good choice.

I'd still fuck the Cooch, though. He's hot.

Haha thats the only thing he has going for him!

Dude two respected INDEPENDENT polls have Booker up only by 10-12 points. In NJ he should be doubling that to your number of 24. People have caught on he's a grandstander and showboater and somehow that he is a Twitter fiend salvages that?

Even allied media here in NJ is tiring of Booker as Phila Inquirer article says he is looking for a coronation and doesnt have time to meet with regular Jerseyans as he is hobnobbing in Calif.

I don't care one way or another, it is New Jersey after all, but 10-12 percent is a landslide no matter how you cut it.

I like Corey Booker---a lot. My belief is once he's sworn into his Senate seat, he'll have his head down and push forward just like Elizabeth Warren.

Booker's opponent is so crazy. Deranged! Unqualified! A really sick human being!!

I'm as right-wing as they come, but anyone who thinks a Tea Party candidate can win in a progressive state like New Jersey is fooling themselves.

I see on Lonegan's website where he's urging House Republicans to resist settling the budget impasse, until he's sworn into the US Senate. At which point Senate majority Democrats will be so demoralized by his victory that they'll capitulate unconditionally, giving Republicans everything they demand, including the end of the ACA. OK... icon_rolleyes.gif

Stop describing the dearly departed Frank Frank Lautenberg. It's in very poor taste.

Actually Frank's son Josh and the entire Lautenberg family are no fan of Cory...They asked Booker's folks to have him hold off on announcing a run until Frank could announce retirement and they refused. Lautenbergs endorsed Frank Pallone.

I predict Booker will win. He has outspent and out-Oprahed all competition.

Lonegan is a perennial type political dude, he's always there. Pity he won't win.

Cory had promise early on. Remember when he accidentally told the truth about the financial meltdown? After that he was by turns threatened with marginalization, and seduced with nice shiny things by the Dem establishment.
