I've read that some of you are ex-Military and I'm sure some of you have family members who are veterans. This may be of interest from their website. I think I will go.

    landinglogo.png

    Why March?

I want you to circle the date of Sunday, October 13, 2013.

And then I want you to help “circle the wagons” on that day to help protect and defend our brave veterans who risked their lives for our freedom – and now are being barred from visiting the memorials erected to honor their deeds.

In a mean-spirited fit of selfish anger, Barack Obama has shut down our nation’s war memorials. And he has declared open war on our honored veterans!

The World War II memorial … the Vietnam Veterans Memorial … the Korean War Veterans Memorial – Obama has shut them all down to force his will on the House of Representatives and frankly, to get revenge on the American people who oppose Obamacare and his other naked power grabs.

Let’s put it plainly: Barack Obama is behaving like a vicious tyrant. And if he succeeds in this assault on the democratic system, the Republic we love is at mortal risk. It’s just that simple.

That’s why I am asking you now to take two decisive moves to show Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi – and all of their oppressive ilk in Washington – that “We the People” are still in charge. And we won’t rest until we take back our memorials and monuments!

    1. First, I would like you to Sign the Petition to sign our petition to re-open the war memorials.

Once your name is on that important petition, it will be delivered to every member of the Senate and the House and we will even put it on the White House website!

    2. Block out the date of October 13, 2013 9:00 am – and then join with the million other patriotic Americans who are determined to unblock our nation’s war memorials.

I’ll be there –along with veterans who are determined to once again fight for freedom – this time on our own Mall!

In anticipation of their eventual deletion, the SB socks appear to be overlapping one another these days.

Incidentally, I still have a lingering suspicion that all of SB's 'socks' are really Firebrand (or whatever he goes by these days) having a laugh at his and our expense.

Steve Stockman was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2013, with a vision of limited government - See more at: http://vetmarch.com/#sthash.NgRQYPc1.2r7719JO.dpuf

So limited gov't would mean limited funding, which in turn could very well mean privatization of the running of such memorials. Then the vets would have to pay admission. OK....

He's bullying. That is a crime. It is also not good for him to stalk others on here like he did me earlier tonight with the disguised profile.

Because it's him and the hatred continues, please join me in reporting him and this thread to administration for both of them to be permanently removed.

I believe the history of this site demonstrates that no person is ever permanently banned, just an account they were using. Because that person can promptly return with a new account. And we have certainly seen numerous examples where that is exactly what has happened, to include the almost-comically obvious southbeach1500.

I must presume that means this site does not have the ability to identify members by ISP. Or else that an ISP identifier would not be sufficient proof that the current user at the other end is the same individual who had been previously banned while using that ISP.

Perhaps those with more Internet savvy than me can comment on this issue of being able to permanently ban individuals from a site.

If you're using a proxy server it would be virtually impossible.

Virtually impossible to do what? Ban a particular individual?

And even if a person was using an identifiable ISP, not a proxy, would that be grounds for a blanket blocking of that address?

Maybe if a person is banned repeatedly, like southbeach1500, and he always uses the same ISP, then a site owner could reasonably conclude that any new accounts from this ISP are by that banned individual. But I don't know how these things work, why I pose the question.

Yeah, I'm not that sure either, but to the best of my knowledge, using a proxy or even several different proxies allows the user to essentially anonymize what ISP he/she is accessing through.

Well hopefully someone here with reputable Internet knowledge will enlighten us.

BTW, your new profile pic is one of your most intriguing. Are you sure you're not turning gay on us?

Please explain how anyone stalked you? Let's see the threads.

I'm dismayed how my topic has been taken over by people who would rather slander me based on some apparent mistaken identity.

Since turtleneckjock has gone public with this, I'm giving my permission for him to post the complete email exchange. I would hope that he would post the email exchange or, if he has deleted the emails, that he would allow me the same courtesy.

I have nothing to hide and would gladly post the email exchange to clear this up.

    Still no explanation---
Did the bullying happen or not?
    I'm guessing not--
Asking people to report someone who didn't do what you said they did? Why? Apparently you like to make up stories to get people removed? You need to be reported

Also, what hatred continues? Your hatred? Pretty evident you hate someone.

And yes, I've reported you to admin for what you've done in this thread--making up stories about a member

Thank you for your support. It's the mark of a coward to spread lies about people and when asked to provide proof, they hide under their bed hoping it will blow over.

Fact is the memorials were not closed in prior shutdowns. This is a completely arbitrary move and is without defense.

    http://tinyurl.com/knlptnn

In prior shutdowns the memorials were open and there is no justification to close memorials that are open to the street. The WW2 memorial doesn't ever "close" it was always open 24 hours a day.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20121108195139/http://www.nps.gov/wwii/planyourvisit/hours.htm

Why is there being money spent to barricade memorials that were never closed?

I can only speculate it is in the line of a plan put forward during the sequester "doomsday" propaganda. None of the doom and gloom came true.

It reveals the pettiness of the administration. It may be technically legal for them to keep people out of parks during a shutdown. But is it legal for the park service to allow the "Camino Americano" protest to setup on NPS land, with a grandstand generators, and soundsystem? while NPS stood by and watched?

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/7/park-service-oks-immigration-reform-rally-closed-n/

It just seems the NPS has orders to make life as difficult as it possibly can.

It lost a emergency lawsuit from a lacrosse team that paid 5000 dollars for a permit to use federal lands not even maintained by the federal government but the local state government. The NPS was sending rangers who never even visited these lands to make sure they are "closed".

Vets, like the population as a whole, come in all shapes and sizes and political hues. Just because a handful of them decide to try and make some political capital out of the shutdown means bugger all really.

I guess if someone shows up with a flag, thats it. The facts are meaningless.

The fact that the park service apparently allowed a granstand to be erected is ok now?
