The judge refused to delay implementation of her earlier ruling permitting gay marriage, while an appeal against that ruling is being sought by New Jersey Gov. Chrisite. Christie has asked the NJ State Supreme Court to overturn the judge's ruling, the same Governor who had vetoed a gay marriage bill passed by both houses of the NJ legislature. I guess we can add another US Republican to the long list of gay opponents.

Maybe Christie should spend less time persecuting gay people and more time on his diet.

Christie looks like a Dick Tracy villain, so he might as well act the part.

He won't even be nominated, let alone win.

Getting nominated would be the tough part. If he did, I think he could have a shot.

I think it is working, but he's going to have a hellofva bunch of excess sagging skin to get rid of if this works.

He won't be able to run as a moderate. The GOP might as well adopt A Modest Proposal as its offical platform at this point.

You guys are uninformed because you only pay attention to left wing news which leaves out many of the facts in order to create homophobe baiting.

Fact: Christie appointed the first gay judge to the NJ Supreme Court 2 years ago so nothing will stop gay marriage from being approved.

Fact: President Obama has increased foreign aid to countries which execute and imprison gays. Many of these countries homophobic governments would fall if the US aid was pulled from them. Obama just gave 100's of millions of dollars to a Russian Company to buy helicopters. Obama just bailed the homophobic Kenya government out of another jam.

The only reason the NJ Legislature voted in favor of gay marriage is because they knew Christie would veto it. Why didn't the legislature put gay marriage on last November's ballet for voters to approve? Answer: NJ Gay Right Lawyers blocked voter approval so they wouldn't lose the legal fees and donations they are receiving. If gay marriage had been on last Novembers NJ ballet, we'd have it already.

Why are you guys supporting state by state gay marriage rights and throwing gays in antigay marriage states under the bus?

Florida Gays: your state doesn't even have gay civil unions so NJ is way ahead of you. Perhaps you should concentrate on the slew of Bush's and other far right wingers like Marco Rubio and Governor Scott who stop gay rights in your state and who are looking to be President. It's the Cuban refugees that Liberals have allowed into Florida that are opposing gay rights so look in the mirror when you wonder why you don't have gay marriage.

Then please explain the Christie veto of the NJ State Legislature's bill to grant gay marriage rights.

You say the legislature only passed it because they knew he would veto it. How did they know that? Why wouldn't this progressive Governor who appointed a gay judge have approved the legislation? Why did he veto it, if he's a friend of gays?

Your arguments are illogical and contradictory. Point is, Christie is once again opposing gay rights, in appealing this judge's gay marriage ruling.

Wouldn't a gay-friendly Governor simply let things proceed to allow gay marriage? What do you propose are his motives? He's been given all the opportunity in the world to allow gay marriage in New Jersey, and he continues to fight it, at taxpayer expense. Please explain.

Florida is just like the rest of the South, ignorant and intolerant and very little is going to change in the future. The only southern state that shows any positive signs of changing for the better is Virginia but that is still quite slim in chances.

This is exactly right. Republican apologists tie themselves in knots trying to come up with elaborate, convoluted explanations for why the GOP continues to fight against civil rights for gay Americans.
Of course the real answer is quite simple: Republicans exploit negative feelings towards minority groups in an effort to seize and maintain power and money. That is why we have to put up with their endless hate-vomit against gays, Muslims, Latinos, Women, poor people, etc.
One more reason I'm thrilled to see them crashing and burning in front of our eyes in Washington... entirely due to their own stupidity, this time.
