Study of single men in Britain:
    http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2013/08/24/Single-British-men-change-their-bed-sheets-4-times-a-year/UPI-88561377370013/

I always thought once a week was mandatory. Couples in Britain wash every other week on average?

If you wear pajamas then you don't need to wash them as much as long as wash your pj's regularly

Plus if you shower that would be great too. Shower in the morning and maybe before you sleep.

I do it when I have a spring clean, which is every spring whether it needs to be done or not.

Weekly. (I grew up in a house where they were changed daily. That's too much!)

    Every Sunday.

Note: Also increase frequency if you have cats. Or the dog feels like paying a midnight visit for some reason. Or of course, if you actually got lucky last night.

For the "never thought I would get this old" file. I've worn out all of my sheets except for one set. They got thinner, and thinner, until they just disintegrated in the wash, one by one. icon_sad.gif

    *sigh* I freaking hate shopping.

One young RJ member has often claimed to have had, given his exacting standards, only bodybuilders for boyfriends, and for the rest of my life whenever this question comes up I remember his post about how his family's house staff would wash and change his sheets daily, and to wait any longer was grossly unhygienic. And then of course I think of some poor chambermaid hunched over a vintage washboard trying to scrub ProTan out of his sheets.

You are correct about washing the sheets more often if one has cats. Cat owner here and mine like to track litter from their paws onto the bed for some reason. I feel like I'm sleeping on the darned beach!

LOL. I actually was referring to hair, and burrs that they track inside.

But... One of the things my cat does, if you pretend to be asleep and ignore him, is pet your face with his paws. So, my buddy is in bed with me, getting his face petted and he says, "Awww, how cute! His paws are perfumed or something!" So without thinking better about it, I tell him, "Um... that's from the kitty litter in the litter box..."
