What's the reason some RJ members change their usernames all the time?

Yeah, it's kinda dumb. This is the only site I know of that allows you to change your username on a whim.

Cause it's fun making up new names.

I'm sticking with being the raven though. It suits me. icon_biggrin.gif

I was Red Vespa here until I was getting ready to sell the scooter. I tried a few other SNs, got some criticisms. Then I discovered that Art Deco was available, a name I've used online since 1995.

My favorite variant of it was on a non-Internet BBS, that allowed more characters and font choices than most sites do today. So that, with a more appropriate-looking font than the one here, it was:

BTW, I always announced when I was changing my RJ SN, as a courtesy, and gave my reason. I didn't want to create a guessing game, or appear to be deceptive.

I like mine. I won't change it. Otherwise people won't know who I am and I lose my identity. I like to keep mine, thanks.

I can see where someone might want to change their screen name once or twice, but changing it constantly indicates some type of mental dysfunction in my opinion. It's like they're trying to fool people. My guess is it's the last step before creating a sock account.

The internet seems to empower personalities..
..So many things you are able to do on the internet that you can never do in reality..

.The only issue I have with constant Screen Name changes is if i'm trying to find a member..

itsmesnitches saidspeaking for myself, it's fun to do that shit.

One of the many reasons some people here do it, is it makes them visible to everyone AGAIN.
If you have somebody on Forum Block, it's as if they deleted their account and came back again.

Is that so? I thought the account was blocked, along with all SNs. Maybe I'm misremembering, or things have changed. I haven't used Forum Ignore for a long time.

well, i didn't know that but see, that's not my problem though.

honestly though, it's really NOT that serious. some of you folks make this shit into something bigger than it is. it's not like i'm following around or harassing you dudes or whatever. somehow, someway, you guys defend people that do that behavior and worst but yet ready to throw people under the bus that you don't agree with. i don't understand the backwards ass logic that happens to run rampant on this forum though. like ya'll want folks to kiss your ass every step of the way while @ the same time not thinking about if you offend or anger anybody else on the forums yourselves.

that alone just makes me want to behave like a dickhead because i'm not even causing any problems. folks is just being dicks, ready to point fingers @ people who defend themselves from their attacks and shit.

The OP asked a simple question. I don't recall him making a "big deal" over anything. It's a forum - we discuss stuff. Not everything we talk about is earth shattering discussions. Constant name changing is annoying and leads to distrust, but I don't think anyone is losing any sleep over it. Chill.

It's not working that way for me; I have some forum blocks who have changed their names and they're still blocked with their new names.
