The Left and Power.

    -Andrew Bolt Column, Herald Sun

CHANTING socialists and feminists on Saturday stormed up to Parliament House to confront 3000 anti-abortion activists gathered there.

Now, remember what socialists claim: they are kinder and more moral. More sharing and caring.

Remember what feminists claim: they want women treated equally. Want mutual respect.

But here is what I saw.

I saw those Socialist Alliance protesters and feminists for hours shout down, blockade, hit, abuse and destroy the property of citizens, priests included, trying to peacefully express a different point of view - that killing babies in the womb is wrong.

I saw socialists and feminists yanking signs from the hands of women older than themselves and destroying their balloons, as if those women had no right to speak and no right to their own property.

I saw some socialists and feminists push police and shove and hit anti-abortionists. One politician was hit with an egg; another was allegedly kicked.

    I saw a socialist wearing a "F... Tony Abbott" T-shirt.

I saw one feminist screaming hysterically in the face of someone trying to speak to her.

Some anti-abortionists possibly retaliated, but the police knew who was causing the trouble, and their lines faced the socialists and feminists, to protect the anti-abortionists behind them.

In this demonstration I saw socialists and feminists betray almost every principle they profess to hold.

I saw them treat women with contempt and fellow citizens with force. I saw them deny others their right to free movement and speech. I saw them counter reason with abuse.

The Left has been long presented by schools, universities and media outlets, especially the ABC, as people who are "progressive" and "compassionate".

The Left I saw on Saturday is instead the natural home of the totalitarian and the bully. And that's without considering that today's socialists and feminists also endorse the killing of healthy unborn infants just weeks before birth.

None of this is new, of course. Most of the worst modern tyrannies, from the French Revolution to the Cambodian genocide, were led by the Left. The greatest attacks on our free speech have come from Labor, a party of so-called idealists.

But as British philosopher Bertrand Russell famously noted: "Much that passes as idealism is disguised hatred or disguised love of power."

We saw that in Melbourne on Saturday. They call themselves progressives. They are instead barbarians, so sure of their goodness they feel licensed to do evil.

This is just to show an article about what seems to be a foreign concept to so many Leftists on this site. Leftism and Socialism is about power and silencing others. This is indeed another extreme example, but this attitude is still rife in so many countries. Use this just as a thing to think about, rather than me trying to give irrefutable evidence for a particular point.

    Not the balloons!

But seriously, it sounds like poor public order policing to me. Protests and counter-protests (especially on such an emotive issue) have a habit of getting ugly and that's why both sides should be kept apart.

Politinerd, have you started getting emails from other RJ members yet telling you that they have asked the site owner to ban you?

If you keep agitating the lefties on here so effectively, you'll soon find your account removed and you will be banned for life

Odd comment coming from a supposed "newcomer," unless he has been around longer under a different name (or a series of them).

Just couldn't keep it up could you without making a mistake, "Sean"!? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I've had people call for me to be banned in just the past week. I've been called a "south beach" and a "riddler" in just the last week. I have no idea what these inside terms mean, but I suppose they are some kind of code indicating a person not wanted by the lefties on this site.

Thanks, PolitiNerd! I owe it all to you!

On the rare occasion there's a conservative rally, there's no violence, but when the left starts jumping up and down, they leave a disaster in their wake. Occupy Wall Street is one example.

It's like AristoShark just reads what non-Leftist people write and then says it back to them. It's quite illogical and bloody stupid. There's no reasoning with people who refuse anything but the dogma of the almighty 'Side'. I say side, because it doesn't matter what situation, they always support their 'side'.

That's hilarious. There's always violence and the threat of it at right-wing rallies. Almost never on the left.

    Examples??? OWS was one.

Well Dan's bake sale maybe a little known reference to a peaceful rally.

Just know that you are unlikely to changes the mind of someone who is aligns himself with the radical left. Its not about facts or a superior moral argument, its just about "winning".

Remember Gabby Giffords, and how the left blamed Sara Palin for the shooting with a cross hairs poster pic on her website. Meanwhile the daily kos sold shirts with Sarah Palin face on it with cross-hairs. Afterwards Obama asked for a "new tone" a civil discourse.

So where are we now? We have a President and his party who on a daily basis reference there political rivals as "terrorists" "extortionists" , "bombs strapped to there chest" etc.

You think they forgot about being wrong about Gifford's shooter? and what they said about political discourse.? They never believed it. But they will dream up just about everything to make you believe Libertarians are mentally ill "kooks" with guns and Conservatives are bible thumping racists.

If this is the case, why do you continue to whine and cry about it?

One very good definition of crazy is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Do you think posting yet another thread whining about the evils of "leftists" is going to suddenly change everyone's mind?

Conservatives are inefficient time-wasters, in addition to being perpetual losers and constant whiners.

it's funny how the Liberals verbally attack a guy who posted what he observed.....kinda similar to what he observed!

Personally, I think that any body who is on either side that gets so emotionally charged to verbally or physically attack someone is clearly to far gone to have a rational conversation on any subject. That would take dropping the ego in order to see past the self.

This guy is clearly not whining.....he's talking about a nation and actions that concern him.

I'm neither left nor right....but a realist. Reality, what he's saying is kinda messed up!! what is going on with people that they act like zombies attacking people for speaking up for their rights. I mean, I've been in a lot of gay rallies!! Religious right wingers may have held up signs and shouted, but, I never witnessed an attack my a mob like that!!!

When I read these posts from "conservatives" I always wonder if the fantasy land they live in just does not have memory. They pretend all the bad things happened when Obama took office (stop blaming Bush, waa waa waa) they love their wars(without paying for them), and then pretend they have served in the military (Palin and Canadian Cruz spent the weekend at war memorials) and they cry on here all time as if their hateful statements from hours before do not count when they bemoan people for calling them hateful freaks.
Do all conservatives just sit around smoking pot and living in a land called Hypocritia?

I doubt anyone on a written forum has 'verbally' attacked him, but I know what you mean.

He was actually posting the 'observations' of a columnist from a right-leaning Murdoch rag (i.e. from the same stable as the great Fox News), so, not only was it hearsay, but pretty biased hearsay at that.

    "And destroying their balloons."
Oh the depravity. Definitely Pulitzer Prize winning stuff.

Oh please. His posts starts out by verbally attacking liberals accusing them of "socialism", "totalitarianism", and then being "natural bullies" -- you can't complain about being "attacked" when these evil leftists respond negatively to that kind of hysterical portrayal. Those are not observations -- those are value judgments. And he is free to make them. But he is also free to be criticized for them, which is the part you all haven't quite grasped.

Do you know what "socialism" and "totalitarianism" is?

I'll take this even 1 or 2 steps further than that. Do you know what "facism" is? How about the 10 planks of "communism"? Are you going to tell me that a government that spies on their citizens and has drones flying over America now is representative of LIBERTY!!! REALLY!!! This didn't start with OB, but it needs to end with him because once Liberty is lost.....it's LOST!!

he 10 PLANKS stated in the Communist Manifesto and some of their American counterparts are...

    1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.
Americans do these with actions such as the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (186icon_cool.gif, and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management (Zoning laws are the first step to government property ownership)

    2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Americans know this as misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".

    3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
Americans call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.

    4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
Americans call it government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process. Asset forfeiture laws are used by DEA, IRS, ATF etc...).

    5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.

    6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
Americans call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations.

    7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
Americans call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture… Thus read "controlled or subsidized" rather than "owned"… This is easily seen in these as well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.

    8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
Americans call it Minimum Wage and slave labor like dealing with our Most Favored Nation trade partner; i.e. Communist China. We see it in practice via the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920's, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000.

    9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.
Americans call it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136. These provide for forced relocations and forced sterilization programs, like in China.

    10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
Americans are being taxed to support what we call 'public' schools, but are actually "government force-tax-funded schools " Even private schools are government regulated. The purpose is to train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based "Education" . These are used so that all children can be indoctrinated and inculcated with the government propaganda, like "majority rules", and "pay your fair share". WHERE are the words "fair share" in the Constitution, Bill of Rights or the Internal Revenue Code (Title 26)?? NO WHERE is "fair share" even suggested !! The philosophical concept of "fair share" comes from the Communist maxim, "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need! This concept is pure socialism. ... America was made the greatest society by its private initiative WORK ETHIC ... Teaching ourselves and others how to "fish" to be self sufficient and produce plenty of EXTRA commodities to if so desired could be shared with others who might be "needy"... Americans have always voluntarily been the MOST generous and charitable society on the planet.

Let met clue you in on where you are.....too blind to see past your partisan views to the reality of what is actually transpiring!!! You see Troy Athlete, I'm in the light and you are still in the cave!! In fact, a lot of you are!

I'll agree with you there 100%. Bush came up with The Patriot Act. Obama said if he were elected that he would abolish it. Not only did he not abolish it.....he strengthened it! I voted for Obama the first time, but like you, I couldn't bring myself to vote this last election because they all just tell us lies to get elected. I wonder sometimes just how different the two parties are when you get right down to it.
