    I got a few questions...

    Whats your favourite programming language?
What new language are you learning/experimenting with right now?
Whats your view on HTML5 web driven apps?(If you care at all about web development of course).
Did you ever expect server side Javascript to get so huge?

I'm learning programming now (C++) and that's really all I know. So it's my favorite by default icon_biggrin.gif

I'm taking a course online (not for college, just self-taught) called coding academy. It's all sorts of different languages and I'm trying to learn Javascript.

I'm in favor of HTML5 apps for sure! I'm really into web development.

No, not really. I'm trying to learn stuff that I think will be more beneficial in say... 10 years time or so!

I've been out of the web development world for nearly a decade, and it's insane just reading about some of the new stuff that you can do now.

    1) Back when I was still programming regularly my favourite language was PHP.
    2) None at the moment. I'd probably dive into Javascript properly since it seems to be getting a lot more attention now
    3) Very cool...wish this kind of thing had been around when I was still doing front-end stuff
    4) "Server-side" and "Javascript" were mutually exclusive back in my programming days, so no I definitely did not expect it

My favorite language is sql server development and I do administration at the same time.

I think app development will be my next step.
I heard about HTML5 bu i've never used it.

Javascript is really not my thing and server side is interesting as if you work in a corporate (client side) u have to be aware of it.

my specialty is infrastructure and now after 3 years and a half of working on this part i got the privilege to work on some international ERP systems and become a system analyst.

    - Perl
    - Python
    - Makes sense. Easier to cater to wider audience.
    - Not surprised at all.

Years ago, I was a PL1 expert. I loved it. Unfortunately, in my last few jobs, I've been cursed with working with 4th generation languages. They're boring and what little work they make easier, they make everything else harder in the long run.
