Who else is irritated, sick of, and had enough of the biased, hatred filled, illogical political postings of a small group of "conversaposee" anti-President Obama members/sock puppets here?

I am a firm believer in intelligent discussion of political current events and have supported both sides of the conservative and liberal view points here on RJ.

But for the last month or so we have been inundated by fact twisting ultra-conservative stupidities-in-action political threads by one or two members/sock puppet accounts here on RJ.

ALL these "guys" post about is political events; with their own unique slant.

Anyone else sick of these "guys" and their threads?

The best think you can do is simply ignore the posts. No, not clicking ignore but simply looking at them, and moving on.

When people like that are deprived of attention they'll give up. It's simple. :-)

Well I think the worst offender among them just got booted, for like the 12th time. But don't worry, he'll be back, and once again get away with posting his venom for longer than he'll be banned.

I think he's learned that he can keep up his barrage here, even while getting constantly banned. Apparently there's no way to permanently block his ISP address. So he keeps returning, posts for anywhere from a week to a month, gets banned for a few days, and bounces right back.

I've always wondered if he gets paid for it, or is just a loyal volunteer for an anti-gay group like NOM. Who have been known to send their agents to misinform, disrupt & demoralize online gay social sites. Given the prominent size of RJ, it would be more surprising if there WEREN'T NOM-types here.

The problem is that most guys don't take the high road and ignore such posts. Instead they need to offer their opinions and end up feeding into the circular discussion.

Just hit "Ignore." They'll dry up and blow away.

On the other hand, no problem with rational discussion wit someone of an intelligent conservative bent - and there are a few. They keep flaming liberals like me honest.

If it were just limited to that I could agree, and say just ignore them. But one wacko in particular has a pattern of spamming the site with outrageously false and inflammatory political threads, sometimes a dozen or more a day. They clog the thread lists, and invariably contain insulting attacks on members here in general, and sometimes individuals in particular.

I don't see why that should be given a pass, since it violates TOU/TOS, and the mission of this site. It also gives a misimpression to those who might visit RJ and consider joining, for its stated health & fitness goals.

RJ discusses many topics, including politics. But these disruptors want to turn the site into a forum solely for their own right wing political objectives, which drives off many more than they attract. It's no wonder Admin doesn't tolerate them for long.

Not really given that the alternative is often no conversation at all. As long as it stays civil and doesn't devolve into name calling and personal attacks, I'm personally fine with it.

I looked at that politics forum here and was appalled. So many topics calling RJ members who are not Democrats "self loathing" and all sorts of nasty names. And people having their own personal wars between them posting insults to each other. If you want to insult someone and have a back and forth of insults do it in the email not in a topic where we all have to sift through your private little war. Then there's the stalking which is something I've seen the creator of this topic do.

From my point of view it seems that people who express a view that is not center or left get pummeled here. I've seen people single out one member for being young as if that somehow invalidates or makes his opinion less valuable than their opinion. It's really comical how some behave on here, very juvenile and lots of hate and no tolerance for other views. Its no wonder people who might have something valuable to contribute in that forum refrain from posting in it just to stay away from the hateful people on there.

I think if someone wants to call them out on misleading statements, that they are trying to portray as facts, they have the right to do so.

I would stick to facts though. If you let emotions get involved; I think they've been doing this long enough where they know how to push someone's buttons and twist someone's words. I didn't realize it at the time, but I think they get off on that fact.

Most of the politics they discuss have nothing to do with things that concern the gay community or even the general public.

They apparently like to create posts with their own version of a story. It's very similar to propaganda in my opinion.

It's nice to know I wasn't the only one that thought the RJ gay community had a few crazy extremists or guys/groups with their own agenda.

I'm not bothered in the least!

Anyway, yep exactly what you just did. I reposted a pic from the public pic section of his profile just as you just did .. twice, but I did it five times. But no, in my case, I have a little different attitude ... I think it's funny.

But what I can I do to be pretty? Halloween is but two weeks away!!!!

This says A LOT. What ever happened to defending the right to express an unpopular opinion?? The left has gone soviet somewhere along the way. That said, if what'shisname keeps getting banned, he really should just move on. And I've told him that.

    Corrected.

Because it's the US Republican Party that has imposed strict ideological constraints on its candidates. And run extremists and Teabaggers in primaries against their own Moderate incumbents, to purge the Party of those who don't conform to the new Right Think. Now THAT'S Soviet.
