Who here grew up with no great expectations? KnowIng ur the kind that will always be shot down so u grow up not expecting much. Knowing deep down anything happy that happens to u will never last. So u develop a sense of detachment---u don't let anything get to u so u don't get hurt, a life-long condition, a given disposition.....A sadness u can't hide, a knowing bottled deep inside.....Feeling disembodied, an unbearable lightness of being.....And everything u do to improve urself u do for urself & no one else.

    I don't think I feel this way.
Rather, I feel that being hurt and being vulnerable is a part of life.
Open up for the possibility of being "shot down" and you won't feel detached.

Think it's more normal than u think icon_smile.gif The feeling of not being good enough, being passed over, not meeting people's expectations.....

Wait! That's not what you said in your original post, which described self-expectation. So which one are you asking? Meeting your own expectation or the expectation/approval of others?
