Well we finally see what the next generation iPads are like with the iPad Air and an iPad Mini with RD. A7 chips in both, the typical speed increases, and for the Air a pretty significant size and weight reduction. So you buying now? Upgrading?

Personally I have the iPad 4 now and although I like the idea of having an Air and/or a miniRD, the price on these things is still a bit ridiculous. Especially given some of the much lower priced alternatives these days. And with all the apps, music, photos, and movies going HD now, 16GB is completely irrelevant in the market now. With the lowest 32GB option being a $500 iPad MiniRD and the next being a $600 iPad Air, I think I'm just going to pass. Like the products but the price tags simply can't be rationalized for me.

Maybe... could be an XXXmas present to myself.

I'm a little torqued that they just released OSX 10.9 for free. I just upgraded to 10.8 Saturday and they charged me twenty bucks icon_mad.gif

And FINALLY, the first major upgade to iWork in four years. I've got an awful lot of hours invested in Pages and Numbers templates. They better not be breaking any of them...

I'll be buying an iPad Air to replace the Gen 4 that was stolen when my husband was in the hospital. I'll also be getting an iPhone 5s when supplies of the version I want become available in my area.

Right now I'm downloading OS X Mavericks.

Nope. I will never get an iPad again. I hate being so limited in what I can do with it.

This is annoying, but I find it's okay if you have (and are willing to part with) the resources to have several devices. This was pretty much my reservation with all tablets (especially the iPad) but if you don't mind paying for a lot of niche devices they can actually be quite enjoyable in their niche. Although I understand that not everyone is so excited about blowing their paychecks on gadgets they probably don't need. icon_smile.gif

No. Not enough of a value proposition to purchase a new one or change products. I have the MS Surface and that's been taking care of my needs pretty well.

No, iPads don't have enough function for me to justify the price.

The "Retina" display is merely 326 pixels per inch. The Google Nexus 7 tablet is 323; not enough of a difference in my opinion. The Nexus 7 is $230 while the iPad Mini Retina is $400 which is a substantial difference.

According to the online CBS Evening News, "Two years ago, the iPad made up 65 percent of the tablet market versus 30 percent for Android. By the end of this year, Android is expected to have 50 percent market share, the iPad falling to 49 percent."

It's like Windows versus the Mac all over again. I remember when the Mac's market share was below 2%. Then they brought Steve Jobs in and he saved their bacon.

Nope. I do currently use an IPad 3 that I won at a company Christmas party. Once it goes, I'll opt for a Sony tablet so it will match my phone, future ps4, and tv, lol.

I probably will get it once I start traveling for my job. I only use it to play games, FaceTime and watch Hulu & Netflix streaming. I think it's a perfect device for the times I'll be on the road.
