Democrats held the government hostage for over 2 weeks earlier this month, as the Republicans asked for a 1 year delay in the individual mandate and Obama, Reid and the rest of the Democrats said "No! No! No!" ...

NOW... they are proposing a 1 year delay in the individual mandate!

It may indeed be the same guy once more. But while I do not really condone the usage of creating many accounts, what about what he said?

It appears that the Democrats are doing exactly what the Republicans wanted to do after they slandered them for two weeks. Principled? Or just pointlessly partisan looking to score political points at the expense of the tax payer?

Politinerd, the website owners will only tolerate a "token" presence of non-liberal thought on here. The more you try to make a little dent in the overwhelming amount of liberal-speak infesting this site, the greater the chances are that your account will be deleted.

    Now back to the topic:

The libs on here will never acknowledge the fact that the Democrats were responsible for the government "shutdown" because they didn't want to "give in" to the Republican's request to delay the Obamacare individual mandate for a year.

Instead, they all piled on calling the Republicans "arsonists" and "kidnappers" and "hostage takers" and "terrorists" for putting forward the idea that the Obamacare individual mandate should be delayed 1 year.

And now the Democrats want us to all forget about what happened over the first 2 weeks of this month and instead we should just go along with them and agree to a 1 year delay because the Obamacare website is a piece of shit and doesn't work.

Sorry, but to quote Harry Reid and Barack Obama, anyone looking to delay the individual mandate "must be out of their mind."

^ Liberal mind confusion at work. Reduces everything to emotional terms. Misses the point entirely.

Did not think it was the country that had to pay for it per se, but companies and small businesses. Is it fair if you go on a holiday and hurt yourself in your own free time, you boss/company should pay for your health care while you are recuperating?

We're finding out which Democrats are now in favor of a 1 year delay of the individual mandate - a mere 2 weeks after they voted against it in order to keep the government shut down!

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) on Wednesday said he plans to back Republican legislation that would delay ObamaCare’s individual mandate to have insurance.

Careful "Hottie" - you don't know how insurance works either, as evidenced by your earlier post.

If only the sick sign up, and the young prefer not to and instead pay the $95 "tax" this will put insurance rates into an upward death spiral. Did ya think of that before you blurted out that tru_blu_ozzie didn't understand how insurance works? Thought not.

I decided to take a break from posting in this forum area given that work has started to increase significantly (much to your dismay and ignorance of trade economics no doubt). But nope, I have never posted by another alias.

Be careful what you wish for, southbeach.
If Obamacare goes, it will be replaced by Medicare-for-all.

And I do hope the Republicans will deny the request to delay Obamacare even if it means that Obama again shuts down the government. It is the law of the land after all apparently.

For a thinking person, you don't use your head for thinking so much, do you?

It won't be "Medicare-for-all". As it is in every country with Universal Health Care, a much more exaggerated two tier system complete with a black market will result. Concierge Medecine has already grown rapidly ahead of the ACA going live and from all accounts will continue to grow.

Those who can afford to will have access to doctors and medical attention by placing their families in concierge medicine situations. Medicine considered too expensive or in short supply for the general population will be available to those able to pay for it on the black market.

Those who can't afford it will have mediocre care from mediocre medical personal after having to wait weeks , months or years for attention.

As is typical of the I want it, I want someone else to pay for it and I want it now crowd, you don't think much further than the end of your nose.

Let's try and get the libs to focus on the topic by having them answer this question:

If the Democrats thought that a 1 year delay in the individual mandate was such a terrible idea 2 weeks ago that they kept the government shut down because of that single Republican request, why is it now such a good idea to the Democrats?

It's not. Don't let them focus on even considering the question. Have it be implemented fully and completely and irrespective of the state of their systems for which they've had years of planning.

They had their chance. It's "the law of the land" and should not be modified.

In Canada there's already a two tier system - at least in Ontario where you have the best specialists and the top research facilities in Canada. I wouldn't characterize it as a black market but it's certainly not "white".

There's the public system where you wait, or it's who you know. And now they're limiting budgets.

Are you really so blind to the problems in the system that have long been predicted because of the aging population?

Maybe this would be an idea to get from an idea (and a law of course) to where it functions.
