This is according to Newsweek. SERIOUSLY?

I'm not asking this to think of all of you jerking off, I'm just really curious, do any of you view porn at work?

Also notable according to AVN is that most porn is viewed between 9am & 5pm.

Other question: Do you think people that seriously cant wait until they get home may have a problem (i.e. addiction)?

Wouldn't be able to if I wanted... they have blocks for that kind of thing. I'm surprised that there's enough companies that have no kind of blocks to make the statistic 25%.

As for having a problem... think it's true for some. Others, I think it's more out of job frustration/boredom than an actual addiction. It, of course, all depends on how often they're doing it.

The big question is -- what is the basis of these numbers?

Is it based on frequent visitation? Is it based on just somebody merely going to the site once in a while? I'm sure the percentage of people that randomly click on any link is pretty high...

It is a big problem in some workplaces, especially those that have a night shift and there is not much activity. It is not that easy to block just porn sites since there are so many of them. If you are caught where I work you get disciplined up to and including dismissal (depends how bad the porn is).

Oh, who hasn't been there. You are bored at work. They don't pay you enough. Your boss is an idiot who got promoted because his boss is an even bigger idiot. How do you crank out those last few hours on a Friday?

Masturbation at work is a different kettle of fish. Not something I would do, but looking at porn is just as bad as playing solitaire, reading RealJock, or shopping for vintage cummerbunds on ebay.

In the early 90's I worked at a large government contractor, as the internet was starting to ramp up. When the figurehead CEO found out about internet porn, he flipped out. There was a surprise announcement that he had a list of all the guilty IP addresses, and everyone who had accessed porn in the last month would be fired!

Oops. It turns out that too many people on the list were the techs who actually did the work that the bureaucrats got paid for. If he actually fired them all, the company would be out of business. icon_sad.gif Plan B.

In the end, the only two guys who actually got fired turned out to be running multiple porn sites from the government-owned computers. icon_eek.gif No wonder they always looked busy at work. icon_rolleyes.gif

So, do you think people are stroking when they are looking at porn at work?
