How female regulars look like on his shows, and the names they're given:

    Mercedes from Glee
    tt5a.jpg
As a guilt offering, put her in a totally unconvincing relationship with a hot blond guy

    Queenie from American Horror Story
    tp3w.jpg
so unwanted that the down syndrome girl got laid first
so desperate that she loses her virginity to a minotaur... yes, that's from tonight's episode

    How boys look like

    Unique from Glee

    Interracial relationships:

    Jay and Gloria
    v1sx.jpg

    Ronaldo and Pepper

Did Ryan Murphy get mugged in a bad neighbourhood?

I'm not getting your thread ...
Are you saying he should not hire fat black actresses?
Are you saying the interracial couple of Jay and Gloria would be funnier if they were a black couple?
Are you saying he should not have black transgender characters?
Are you saying Ronaldo and Pepper would be better if they were black.

Really, I just don't get it. What exactly are you trying to say?

What's wrong with Mercedes as a woman's name? The car was named after a woman.

something that also pertains with this web forum and how many of its members think it's "cute" to use gifs of black women acting feisty, having an attitude and etc. some members and me have mentioned it before about how offensive and fucked up it is BUT then the ignorant motherfuckers like always had to turn it into "you need to shut up. you're making it about race" and typical dumbass speak. the same folks that think they're smarter than everybody else but really they're just dumb, predictable, and of course delusional.

personally, me as a black male that comes from a family which is mostly made of black women is offended at that shit. it's disrespectful. it also bugs me @ the fact that you have gay men in here that cry about being stereotyped, all insecure about how society and their peers seeing them as being weak, effeminate and etc for being gay turning around doing the same shit to black women. it's mind blowing really. what's even annoying is how they act all arrogant and like they know it all.

They think its funny to disrespect black women and make a joke out of them, this mentality is much older than you think. It goes all the way back to Sarah Bartman ... aka hottentot venus. She was an african woman sent to Europe to be made fun of and was forced to perform in a " freak show " for the reason none other than her race. She was forced to perform unspeakable acts and endured such atrocities border lining gang rape while mass audiences of Europeans watched and gawked at her suffering. http://peacebenwilliams.com/who-is-sara-baartman-every-black-woman-should-know-her-name-photos-video/

I find the who fetishization of the " big sassy black woman " diplorable and should not be tolerated.

Here's more info on the matter

At least black people are making it on TV. Look at how many other minorities are getting shunned. How many Greek TV actors do you know? Other than Tina Fey? Exactly.

so black people should be happy if they're being stereotyped or represented in an offensive manner?

Black people aren't the only ones being stereotyped and misrepresented. Look at Latino depiction, gays, etc. It's everywhere.

    @ AMoonHawk :

Regarding the interracial relationships, OP is saying that the common theme is an older white man with a younger, more attractive minority... seems pretty obvious to me.

I rather not be depicted on TV at all than depicted like Han in Two Broke Girls. It's mind-blowingly regressive. Again, a gay writer.

Some of them do it to themselves! Charm school, flavor of love, real brokewives of Atlanta, "basketball" wives.

    Don't blame Ryan Murphy.

I agree that Glee in obnoxious. The characters are awful, across the board.. But I don't get what the issue is with gay men who latch onto black women as role models. (I would think it's a compliment!) Also, I feel like RJers are just as likely to use a Bette Davis gif as anyone... It's about attitude, not race, imho.

That's the one! There's also the Linda Carter "Why U mad?" gif.

These gifs are more about attitude than race, imo.

The only gay agenda I know is that of people like Ryan Murphy and Michael Patrick King who seem to use media to prop up older white men and to keep minorities down so that they'll settle for the former.

And AMoonHawk is just being disingenuous, he's gravitated to enough race threads to know exactly what people are talking about.

^^I'd agree with the agenda part actually. Shows by gay writers seem especially backwards when it comes to race.

^^Looks like you're the only one here who doesn't understand the point of the thread.

That, or you're just playing dumb, again. Probably the latter since your initial questions are clearly rhetorical ie: "should we not hire black actresses?"

Amazing that a thread exists for this LOL, ah google...

I had a conversation with a friend last night who was saying the exact same thing about Glee, 2 broke girls, American horror story, etc.

The friend was saying that in Toronto, they have a gay clubbing event called Asian Express, created ironically by an old white guy. Ostensibly a night for Asians who like Asians, in practice many guys who go there are actually potato queens looking for rice queens, and old white men looking for said potato queens.

So it's not that hard to imagine that it's in the interest of older gays to keep certain races segregated and devalued, to maintain some access to younger meat lol.
