I think Paleo will die first. Research is starting to show just how bad it is to eat this way (not to mention some of the flaws in the methodology and interpretation of the original research that led to inappropriate conclusions). It will go the way of Atkins and everything else that has been debunked.

Well, to be sure the complete absence of carbohydrates is a poor idea, and the whole 'abstain from wheat utterly' is just as faddish and silly as any other diet-of-the-moment. But the rest of it, with a heavy emphasis on greens and protein, is quite healthy.

I think the assumption that we can truly be certain of what peoples with no permanent public records ate and drank thousands of years ago is ridiculous. What about sticking to works in this day and age based on your body's own unique chemistry and degree of fitness.

    The Paleo diet includes carbohydrates.

We may not know exactly what humans were eating millennia ago, but it probably wasn't pasta, bread, and McDonalds.

The Paleo diet really isn't a "fad" diet. It's been around since human beings first appeared.

You are aware that diet highly varied by region based on what was available right? The macronutrient profile was completely variant, the amount of meat vs. vegetables/fruits vs. grains was variant by region, there is NO such thing as one true Paleo diet. It's a central flaw to the entire premise, and only one at that (several other glaring flaws include the fact that most of them didn't live past 40 [with many children dying by age 15], and a majority of them weren't actually ripped).

Avoiding processed food is always a good idea. Eating stuff with only one ingredient is also an excellent idea. That's not Paleo though; Paleo is a romanticized idea that has been thoroughly debunked [see video below].

The Paleo diet and gluten free are the only two I can think of at the moment that are patently silly.

No idea who Miley Cyrus is since I don't watch tv.

I also like being thankful for fads that have fallen by the wayside. Remember when young women were all wearing tops that were just a few inches too short so that they showed off some of their belly? The only problem was that 98% of them didn't have a midriff worth showing off and we got to see a bulge of fat hanging out. Jeeze, I hated that.

Mullet haircuts is another, but most of you guys are probably too young to remember those (and be thankful for that).
