I have just read Victor Rook's new book "In Search of Good Times." If you have read his previous collection of stories, you are already familiar with his brisk storytelling style, that makes his books satisfying quick reads.

"One can easily imagine watching " In Search of Good Times" as part of the Sunday Disney Lineup that Rook recalls. supporting characters are vivid and charmingly memorable. The narrative is fun and adventurous, filled with unlikely coincidences building to a climax that gratifies, with no loose ends. He plays masterfully with the pace and the reader's emotions.

I intend to buy a copy as a gift for a friend in Ottawa; I want people to read it.

Because I liked his first book, I pledged money to a Kickstarter campaign to design the cover for this book, but the campaign did not reach its goal.
Frankly, if I had the means, I would have paid for a book cover myself, out of principle (supporting a writer I like). But after having read it, I wish doubly so that I could have given it a cover that better suits it.

I am not normally one for reading fiction, but sometimes you need something that you can read quickly.

I breezed through Victor's book in 4 hours). I did not want to put it down. The story has terrific momentum throughout.

Wow, thanks Trevor! I just caught this. I will be getting one more review this week and the book will be up for sale to others. I am happy, and others tell me as well, with the updated cover. Removing the man and dog made it more adult. This one will do.

isn't a place for you to shamelessly sell a book you wrote...that's stupid.
