We've still got local store backlogs, and I was told things like "Drop in at 8 am and see what's come in."

Ummm... no, I don't do that. So I ordered a gold 64GB, arrives in 3-4 weeks at our home. Local store delivery via an online purchase wasn't an option.

But I've done home iPhone delivery before, surprisingly easy to plug it into my iMac to transfer the phones, it all happens automatically. Apple & AT&T activate the new phone, and inactivate the old, with all info carrying over, including the number. It's as DIY as you can get.

Aside from triggering your premature ejaculation disorder, my purpose was to share with those facing an iPhone store backlog the alternative I had chosen. But thanks for the bump! icon_biggrin.gif

Mine is supposed to arrive after Nov 21, which is perfect. I don't return from Key West until the evening of Nov 20, so anything earlier would be a problem. Whether it will be delayed much beyond that I can't predict, but I certainly didn't want to be haunting the local Apple store waiting for unpredictable deliveries.

Then the next item is the iPad Air, due out Nov 1. I haven't decided if I'll also order it online, depends on what the stores have. Anytime before Christmas is fine, not in a rush.

woodsmen saidI have two 5S, a silver one for personal use, and a gray one for business. LOVE them. Light as paper.

Good to hear. I didn't want to get one until reports started coming in from actual users, and the word has generally been good.

Although they're still in short supply in stores, why I decided to buy online with home delivery. The local Apple Store told me "We get a few arriving most days, but we never know which ones, and they sell out the first 2 hours". And the AT&T stores told me they were all sold out for at least 2 weeks before they'd get any more.

Which made online seem more attractive, especially since I specifically wanted a new gold one, to help distinguish it from my white 5, which will remain in service. Plus 64GB again.

I just wish they had gone to 128GB like with the iPad, since I've had the iPhones and iPads nearly maxed out, and would load more if I had the memory. I'll only get a 128GB iPad Air when they come out, I guess that happens tomorrow. Though again I'm not sure I'll go through a store if supplies remain short (and I never do that first-day line waiting thing), plus I do prefer to wait a few weeks anyway, in case any unexpected technical problems are uncovered.

Mine was originally scheduled for delivery after Nov 21. But that got updated in a Apple email today to 11/11. So then I went to UPS tracking, and now the date is 11/7, this Thursday!

Only 9 days for home delivery from when I placed the online order is definitely better than playing shipment arrival games with either the local Apple store, or with AT&T, who couldn't predict when they might have the version I wanted (Gold 64GB).

Art....I certainly hope Southbitch doesn't follow you around in real life the way he does online. It's really creepy how he drags up old posts you've made just to make a comment. I picture his bedroom walls littered with Post-It Notes with various information about you. I do hope you keep your blinds closed tightly at night.

Thanks. southbeach1500 is very creepy. His stalking might even be something for law enforcement to investigate. I do wonder if he is a physical threat to me.

Who else would keep tract of every post I have here, going back many years, of my 30-odd thousand? The RJ search function barely works, so that explanation he gives doesn't fly.

He claims to live not far from me, but others on RJ have said he's really in NYC. If he is in fact up north I can probably rest easy. Otherwise, I dunno.

Whatever, he is indeed a creepy stalker. Has been for years.

Nope, not stalking Art Deco at all.

I have had several truces (which I initiated each time) with Art Deco here so far this year. Mr. Deco has each time violated the truce by posting nasty, vile things about me.

I have finally had enough and am now serving up "Art Deco's Greatest Hits" along with a heaping helping of Hyacinth Bucket pictures.

Funny how YOU "Scruffypup" have been blind to all the unprovoked nastiness Mr. Deco has directed towards me all these months - nastiness that I just let go and did not counter.

Wouldn't have to do with the fact that you and Mr. Deco are on the same side of the political aisle, would it?

    Hypocrite much?

Haha. You need to pay more attention. Deco and I disagree fairly frequently. But I've yet to see him stalk you the way you do him. It's really quite disturbing.

Thank you. Although actually I thought you & I agree on many issues, as well. Even my husband & I will disagree on some things. I think that's to be expected among normal people.

As for SB, yeah, he does stalk me, and it is indeed quite disturbing as you say. It's become an unhinged vendetta with him. With the previous RJ Admin that sort of behavior would have been stopped by now.
