Regardless it shows some irresponsibility on his part, you don't just go to jail for nothing. Throw him to manure pile

i feel like u cant really say u love somebody if u would up and leave him when times are tough.

your assumptions are so damn cute.

It really depends on the crime and the guy.
One would hope, he's not some sociopath and you can't see it, but what are going to do?

No one arrested nor thrown in jail simply for being gay.

None ever charged under false pretense.

No one ever jailed exercising the freedom of speech.

Never an arrest made nor an innocent jailed participating in honorable civil disobedience for a just cause.

I would not be in a relationship with guy who's going to jail. I would be interested in all that drama!

I was in jail one night. Got pissed off for getting a speeding ticket between Fort Worth and Dallas while trying to make a Prevent Blindness board meeting. Didn't pay it. Forgot about it. Got pulled over for having a tail light out at midnight Sunday night going to a 24 hour pharmacy to get some medicine for a sick kid. There was a warrant for my arrest for not paying the speeding ticket. They wouldn't take a check or credit card. Cash only. My lawyer spent the night trying to raise enough cash to bail me out. My (now ex) wife couldn't leave the kids. They threw me in the drunk tank.

I would not break off a relationship if it was unintentional. Sometimes people make mistakes maybe due to the spur of the moment.

But if it's a behavior pattern that he wouldn't give up and it can potentially drag me down too, I would let him what I feel about it, and if he doesn't want to change, I would break it off.

Half my friends have been in jail.
    WHY?
    I couldn't be a more innocent person.

i wouldnt call it a pattern but this is not the first time he's been to jail. but this is the first time he's had a drug charge. his offenses typically involve some kind of assault and the charges get dropped. this is the first time he's actually been convicted of a felony

(Jail) Birds of a feather, flock together.

If you run with a crowd that gets arrested more than once, you're going to end up like that crowd.

If that's the life you want, then it's your choice.

Otherwise, I suggest you find a new circle of friends who are not getting arrested and not going to jail.

It's always your choice whether you want to run with the winners or the losers.

I agree, people do make mistakes however if your friends are frequent reoffenders then there is no hope. You will end up inside one day. That is your choice, but for me life has to much to offer to waste it in jail

It all depends of the charges and what was he arrested for. If is something minor, of course I'll wait. Now, if is a serious felony and the chances of him getting out are slim to none... I gotta move on with my life.

you say that but i've known a couple of guys who were falsely accused of something and taken to jail only for the police to release them because they caught the wrong guy. the police were ready to throw them under the bus, hit the interrogation techniques on them and intimidate them into confessing something they didn't do. sorry but not everyone that gets locked up or is in jail is guilty. the police are not there to serve and protect. they will more than likely lock your ass up if it suits their agenda. even being a law abiding citizen with no criminal record can not guarantee that you'll run across the police trying to find a reason to put you in handcuffs.

    You misread me.

I reserve judgement. Plenty of my family and acquaintances have spent time in jail. They deserved to be there. I know of some people who have gone to jail for causes that they believed in. For the most part, they were wrong, but there was a certain honesty about that. And, of the times that I have been accosted and harassed by the police, it was almost always because I was in the company of a black man or a hispanic man, or an asian man. They might have been put in jail if I weren't so fucking white-bread and had cute puppies in the back of the truck. icon_rolleyes.gif

people don't get arrested and or go to jail for nothing! The pair of you sound like a bit of a nitemare. You both need to get your shit together. Jail is not a good background to have or be proud of especially when you are 19-20.

This tells me that neither one of you knows how to stay out of legal trouble. Maybe you deserve each other.
