I just ordered mine; wondering if any of you have any experience with it.

Developed at the ASU (Arizona State University) in Tempe, AZ for skin cancer prevention it works INCREDIBLY well. Although, I've never used it, I've had a number of friends who have. It is amazing.

Melanotan and Melanotan II are both synthetic versions of melanocyte stimulating hormone that were created, synthesized and developed at The University of Arizona and the Arizona Cancer Center. Melanotan is a linear, full length peptide (containing all 13 amino acids). Melanotan II is a shortened, circular version of the same peptide. Both Melanotan and Melanotan II have sunless tanning capabilities but because Melanotan II had libido enhancement and spontaneous erections as side effects, it is now being developed as a sexual and erectile dysfunction drug.

It's the hormone that tells your body to turn on the tanning response. For folks who don't tan, burn easily, or are of fair complexion, and yet live in the south, this an amazing discovery (it's been around for a while now).

You can get on any good muscle board and read all about it.

Like testosterone, estrogen, insulin, and other hormones, the dangers of supplementation are marginal compared to the benefits. No...your organs don't turn different colors. That's just B.S., like the misinformation floated around on other stuff. Yes...your tan response is turned on by the hormone.

    http://www.tanresearch.com

In this case, for a fair-skinned person, or someone who's tan response is lacking, using this hormone is a great thing.

I'm planning on using it this year.

It makes you D-A-R-K in a major way. My buddy was nearly black, while taking it. I think he got carried away.

    From wiki:

The side effects reported were mild nausea and a "stretching and yawning complex" that correlated with spontaneous penile erections.

I'm kinda curious as to what a "spontaneous" erection is. Easily stimulated or without warning boners?

Ive been really wanting to try this stuff but im scarred since its not FDA approved. Also it seems like everybody's friends have tried it, yet no one has come forward and said that, they themselves have used melanotan. Would be interesting if someone post their results.

I found a muscle building forum in the UK where some of the thread participants had been using it with good results.

The "spontaneous erections" were just that...as is an increase in your libido. But some also said that freckles appeared or existing ones got darker, but that also depended on the dosage you gave yourself. And the freckles went away after they stopped taking it.

I'm slightly curious to try it...but as it's not FDA approved, I'm leery. But I didn't see anywhere that anyone had died or had abnormal growths from it either.

Yet, you'd still get stuff from the "nutrition" store, none of which is FDA approved.

I'm sure ASU is not looking for law suits.

    THINK.

Gosh, if anybody can market whatever in a nutrition store, but a naturally occuring hormone isn't, which makes more sense?

I'm dumbfounded by some of the remarks on here.

    It's a naturally occuring hormone.

It's not FDA regulated, but, then, almost nothing in the nutrition store is.

However, cigarettes, ARE regulated, and they kill people in droves.

Fast food kills MANY, MANY, MANY, more people, but, they've had Congress exempt them from many lawsuits.

    DOH!

Melanotan from the hype on the Net seems to be an effective product. I have no personal experience with it's use

Unfortunately no supplement is evaluated by the FDA.. So no one knows if is effective or safe... I myself ignore this fact and take all kinds of supplementsicon_lol.gif

Over a fifteen month period there were 62 deaths in the USA from tainted heparin an injectable blood thinner. The contaminant came from China and was not tested by the FDA..

Melanotan I and Melanotan II are both injectables.

On September 6 2007 the FDA issued a Warning Letter to Melanocorp, Inc. For Illegal Sale of Melanotan II
Does this mean that it is illegal to sell Melanotan in the USAicon_question.gif
Does this mean you could be arrested buying the producticon_question.gif

The FDA does not regulate tobacco yet. However, the House has passed legislation earlier this month giving the FDA the authority to regulate tobacco. The FDA will not have the authority to remove tobacco from the market. The Senate has yet to vote.

Not sure about need to inject yourself with this stuff. Also don't like the side effect of increasing moles or spots.

Is there another way to take it aside from a needle icon_confused.gif

I felt the same way, but the injection is nothing - it's a short jab in your fatty tissue like Diabetics have to take (not like the full on intravenous injections for illegal drugs).

And it didn't give me any increased moles or freckles AT ALL.

I guess you sold me then.

I'll try some at the Cape next week.

If something abnormal happens I'll come and blame you on the internets icon_wink.gif

Lol, done deal - just go very easy with it at first - if you inject to much too fast you just get really sick (been there, done that), as in nasty nausea, stomach pains (like indigestion) and ... strangely ... a perpetual hard on!

Only the first time though - no sides after that.

Best way is to take small doses to build up, before bed, with a regular antihistamine to reduce any sides.

Don't worry about that though - even if you stupidly take loads the first time like I did, it's just like having a nasty stomach bug for one night!

ps. when you say you'll try some "at the Cape" ... not sure what that means, but bear in mind you need to take a small dose every night for a couple of weeks to build up - Google "how to use melanotan". There's a forum dedicated to it.

Also, most sites that sell the stuff give you instructions on how to use it first time.

    Do your research!!!

    my simple formula:

3-4 days a week, after 3:00pm 12 minutes per side, no SPF. over time your skin naturally gets a darker base, with out burning, no chemicals, lasts longer, i do this year round. rest of the day I wear 30 on my face and body.
