http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/11/04/business/under-health-care-act-millions-eligible-for-free-policies.html?smid=tw-shareAs many as seven million people could qualify for subsidies that would cover the entire cost of a health insurance plan under Obamacare, according to three independent estimates, as reported in The New York Times. The lowest tier of health plans on the exchanges, the Bronze plans, often come with premiums low enough to be completely covered by subsidies...

Dante Olivia Smith, a lighting designer from Manhattan, learned that federal subsidies would allow her to buy a bronze plan for $24 a month.

“It was astounding,” she said. “I almost started crying, and called my mom.”

In the end, however, she went with a silver plan for $91 a month that included dental and vision coverage. Ms. Smith, who is 30, said she opted for the more comprehensive plan because of her work, which requires her to climb ladders and use power tools...

...This is a far less sexy story than the tiny percentage of people losing their current plans and having to may more for new, better ones, because it's not all about how horrible the law is. It's probably not going to be all over the news like those other stories, but it is all about what this law was supposed to do: make health insurance affordable for as many people as possible.

a plan has no value if you have no access to a doctor or a high deductible.

sorry to use the word "tiny" to describe people loosing insurance is disingenuous . Its equal to or more than the 7 million people mentioned in the article getting funding.

In addition the plan cost calculator was proven to be flawed and based on 26 year old patients. Its just a estimate and is likely to be higher.

Free! Because they aren't paying for it doesn't make it free!

It's being paid for by millions, up to 129 million, like me who are being forced off of our insurance pans and into more expensive substandard plans.

It's not free, it's being paid for by the people who were lied to by this President and this administration who knew they were lying when they were telling the lies!

    Free???
What the hell do you think is happening and has been happening to make Healthcare overhaul a necessity?
The millions of people who have no healthcare and need care on an emergency level when they get sick ..... ?

Who the hell do you think has been paying for that?
Lemme tell you my friend it isn't a diminutive Koch fairy who comes down late at night to your hospital room and erases your bill

Time to live in the real world and take off the FOX colored glasses

Maybe you should start living min the real world instead of shilling for a This corrupt President and his morally bankrupt and scandal ridden Administration . If this was so good, why was it necessary to lie about it? Care to explain why the Employer Mandate was put off until after next years elections?

Socialism at its finest. I find it shocking how it's this hasn't been found unconstitutional. People are going to lose their drive to work for others and reap a third of the benefits.

This is BS. If people in big houses lose their ambition they are free to downsize... But that's not going to happen.

How is it free if someone else is being forced to pay for it?

Just who was it that brought in socialized medicine? The Republicans, which is why those with no insurance can go to public hospital ERs and not pay if they're broke. Instead, those with insurance get ding-ed by the hospital to cover that cost, and insurance companies refuse to cover some of that, so you, the insurance policy holder, get to pay cash right out of pocket for part of your treatment when you use that hospital. AND you've been doing it for years.

This is what the Republicans did, and they didn't fund it, which is why you get to pay such bloated hospital costs.

...and signed by Ronnie Reagan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Medical_Treatment_and_Active_Labor_Act

What a socialist, eh? It makes some of you look foolish with your cries of socialism.

Then we have Fox News, which had this delightful article about Obamacare: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/09/30/five-reasons-americans-already-love-obamacare-plus-one-reason-why-theyre-gonna/
