Very nice! Got it unexpectedly last night, typing this post on it now. I became curious about availability and phoned the local Apple Store. They shocked me by saying they had a couple of white 128GB ones that moment, first-come, first-serve.

So I told my husband, just as we were about to go out to a restaurant, that I wanted to take a quick detour first. I was in and out of the store within 15 minutes, not requiring their setup, since I was going to do a backup from my home iMac, to make the new tablet mirror my stolen 4th-gen iPad.

Then we continued to the restaurant - he was very good about the delay, despite the life-threatening risk one faces if you ever get between him and food. Maybe he realized he'd get his own iPad back full time now.

It really is faster, smaller & lighter, makes the previous ones seem like bricks. Battery life appears excellent. I'm using my old Apple wireless aluminum keyboard with it for now, but I've got a folding keyboard on order, that will fit into my shoulder bag. Its 128GB allowed me to load the rest of my photos onto it, the data I put in it now exceeding the capacity of the previous 64GB model I had.

I'm sure the next release will include the fingerprint reader, plus other improvements, but I couldn't wait much longer for a replacement of my stolen iPad. If you liked the iPad before you'll REALLY like the Air.

woodsmen saidJealous. I am waiting to visit my in-law parents for Thanksgiving to buy it without sales tax.

I hope the local Apple Store has the model you want in stock. I just got lucky last night. If you order online and have it shipped to your in-laws you may still beat the sales tax, I don't know if the tax is based on the address of the recipient or the purchaser. You can go through the online steps and it'll show if you're paying a sales tax before you finalize the purchase, and what the projected delivery date will be.
