The death of Jesus does not atone for dysfunctional relationships.
There is sin in dysfunctional relationships. Killing a pigeon or whatever that was sacrificed at the Temple before it was destroyed did not show forgiveness or grace between the two parties of the dysfunctional event.
At this point in time, I do not see Jesus' death clearing any Karma.
Yea, a criminal does need to think about innocent victims. That might help in his/her rehabilitation. It also might make others say, no: I do not want to harm the innocent. But that's as far as I think the death of Jesus can go.
