With all the people loosing their homes, a lot of dogs and cats are being dropped off at the shelters. If each one of us donated food, toys, kitty litter, or cleaning supplies to one of the non-profit (no-Kill) shelters in our areas it would help so much. If you know of someone thinking of getting a dog or kitten, please refer them to these agencies. It breaks my heart to see all of these beautiful animals not only wanting love and attention but needing to give it too. Please do what you can to help. I volunteer at Faithful Friends in Wilmington De. But there are shelters in all of our areas. Thanks Very Much!

I am a guardian ... icon_biggrin.gif ...my monthly donation goes right to my credit card and I never notice...

    BECOME AN ASPCA GUARDIAN TODAY.

Did you know that monthly giving is an incredibly efficient way to support the ASPCA? The ASPCA Guardians are a group of dedicated friends like you who make monthly gifts that provide a consistent, reliable income stream, allowing us to focus more resources on our lifesaving programs, and less on raising the necessary funds. Members like it because it's easy to budget and it feels great to be making a difference for animals every month of the year.

Another way to donate is through the American Kennel Club's CAR program that provides funds animal shelters and other agencies to assist in animal rescue during natural disasters. Their site it www.AKC.org

I second George's plea. I work as a trainer in a couple of local shelters. They are wall to wall with cats and dogs. In some cases owners have lost their housing and have had to move to places that do not allow pets. In others, the owners just can't afford to look after them any more.

I'm afraid we are entering a possibly long period when people are going to be asked to look after each other more than ever before. I am hoping that collectively we will be able to look after each others animals as well.

    Peace.

There are a good number of quality animal support groups and I do everything I can for animals. I believe in this. We need to help them - they can't help themselves. All they ask is a loving, safe place that they can call home. I wish we could save every animal from suffering and lack of love.

Thanks for your input guys, and thanks for the info.
If we all do just a little we can accomplish so much. As everyone has said, all of these abandoned animals can't help themselves. They need us. Please help!
    Thanks Again!

With Oz not being in a recession, as America has been since December last year. It's not as bad down here. But......................... I still give to animal welfare, although the year, and even more at Xmas.

Still some people think a Pet is only for Xmas, and not for it's life.
