My best friend emailed pictures of him with his wife and son. I'm 33 yo, single, no kids... The single life suits me but I also feel like my existence lacks purpose without a family of my own. Wish I could find the man for me already so we can nock up some chick and be a family. Minus the chick of course duh.

No I dont agree. Your logic only applies to the gay hook up world but this guy is looking for love and make a family. Its weird to find anyone under 30 looking for that, it's older guys who already 'had fun' who want to take a further step. So I would say he's in the right age to find someone accordingly.

Grass is greener; you know this, as I'm sure if he's your best friend he also bitches to you how his life sucks at times--spends at least 40% of the time wishing he was you.

I never understand why people say "I hate to say this" and then say it. If it pains you to say something so trivial, keep it to yourself, especially something so obviously false.

It's unfortunate that gay guys feel that the only thing that gives their lives purpose is "having a family" or just being in a relationship.

Luckily, my career gave me my purpose. Also the several years of volunteer work I did for a non-profit. But if your job is ho-hum I can understand wishing for a better life.

maybe you should keep your miserable and hateful posts to yourself. It's not our fault that it rains all day where you live

He lives in Colorado Springs which is high and dry for a large part of the year and is home to that homophobic Focus on the Family organization founded by the nation's premier narrow minded, bible thumping screwball James Dobson.

Yeah its all good, but have in mind growing old and alone is something most people don't want -regardless of how cool their jobs are. And not only that, its just the fact that having the people you love around is awesome. Imagine having grand kids and stuff. I respect you're not interested in that, and that your career is enough, but it's not hard to understand why so many people do want to make a family.

This is true. My married friends envy me and I envy my married friends. Like the OP, I keep thinking how much happier I be with family... or at least some greater reason for my own existence.

Yeah my buddy doesn't have the perfect life. But I would like to pass my DNA on and raise a child that makes me proud. At least I would hope I have what it takes to instill balanced values. At this point in my life I'm married to work... Hopefully in a year or so I'll be able to ease up on work to allow more room for love and ideally a family. We shall see.

A lot of guys (straight or gay) by 25-30 dont even have their lives in order. I know 30 yr olds still in uni etc., no steady income, or what have you, soI have to disagree, also.

Truth.com/forreal I feel like I need some responsibility in my life. Working for the Dept of Defense has taught me a great deal of responsibility but if you observed how I live... I show a lot of immaturity. All the guys I work with are listening to AC/DC and I'm jamming to Wreckingball LOL. Grilled cheese is still my fave. Financially and career wise, I've got my life in order. Time to start working on my modern family lol.

JuanPablomv89 saidI personally think that it's up to you if want to be happy or unhappy.
it's your life and it's your choice.

I'm very happy with my life. I just feel it could be more meaningful if I were a father. If I lived to promote the success of my child rather than my own success, my life would have more meaning. Hopefully I'd raise a young man or woman who contributes to what makes our planet so awesome rather than just existing or being a drain on society. I don't just want to be a father to say I'm in the club.
