It's quite interesting that a basic human right would be left to each state to decide for themselves, no?

thebearerofbadnews saidof course, not. that's what fucked me up about the supreme court decision.

But the President supports the "let the states decide" approach.

he's only doing it because that's like what the us constitution says or something like that. state rights or something like that.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States'_rights

can understand the principle. just don't understand how people who happened to be a "minority" human and civil rights can be determined by the "majority" that don't know any better. like our lives are in the hands of these people that hate us where they could simply make our lives hell and get away with it because it's legal. it's obvious that us lgbtq people should be a fucking protected class since we're likely to be discriminated against but we're not for some reason. the supreme court could have done it BUT they were worried about some bullshit about it being "too early" to make a huge decision. what a bunch of fucking cowards. it's about doing the right thing.

Interesting though the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 was done at the Federal level. If gay marriage is a basic human right then the President has precedent on his side.

i agree. it's even more puzzling that this issue is put up for a vote by citizens. why do my peers get to decide whether i am worthy of the right to marry? that should be a protection granted to me by the constitution.

i constantly battle with my family who don't understand the parallels between gay rights and african american rights in the U.S. if it were left up to each state to decide my right to vote or marry someone of another race, there would still be several states in the south where my rights would be restricted. ugghhh... so frustrating.

HUH???? why are you obsessed with obama for? get off his dick. it's clearly something that goes beyond him. you obama haters always hugging his nuts even with shit that has nothing to do with him.

i don't hate on Obama (and i don't think PrickleyHeat is either), i've been very happy with him as pres. while i think Obama has been a great supporter of gay marriage, i wish he were a much stronger supporter by introducing a bill that provides national same-sex marriage rights. despite the multiple state victories, i think leaving it up to each state weakens the overall value of same-sex marriage rights.

No, I do not agree with it.

But at the same time, the sentiment is that each state will have to decide within itself if it is ready and educated enough to take it on.

Remember with North Carolina all the major cities were in large support of it, but it got outdone by all the small counties. That's what it's like in most states. The ones in podunk towns are still uneducated about sexuality in-general thus they fear the unknown.

We need to organize, sign petitions and march on Washington DC to demand that they don't keep treating us like 2nd class citizens. Black Americans got their civil rights act, LGBT Americans need to demand the same.

Good grief, who cares who disagrees with President Obama on the subject? Being obsessed with the President at every turn is annoying. How many accounts are you going to start with stolen pictures saying the same damn things?

At this point, gay marriage being legalized at any level is acceptable, the more liberal states have taken the step to do it and that is a good thing. With that said, at some point it will be decided federally, it's just a matter of time.

SB's just one of those pulling this horseshit. There's a few others including the jas/harris/et al and of course the ever perving, highly disgusting phlegm/newscreennameoftheday, though those all might very well be the same.

The more I read this forum the less I enjoy it. I'm down to about zero respect for those particular scumbags doing their best to shit the place up. As much as I'm anti-moderators, I certainly can see justification of occasional exception.

Here's one of the latest pervings that sucked in a bunch of unwitting RJer's ...

cj1111 said...Like if you let a dog kiss u does that make u into beasteLity? I don't get why kissing has to be a gay thing when between two males anyway...

cj1111 said...If you have a dog you pretty much let your dog kiss you with its freakin tongue lol. How is that any different from letting someone your close with kiss you?

SB's particular brand of bullshit isn't sexual perving, outside, of course, of when he duct tapes what's left of his foreskin to his hip in an attempt to stretch it out, a disgusting image burned into my brain (thanx so much for that considerate post). Instead his perving is generally more political.

The deceptive perversion he displays here is his attempt to rally by mocking Democrats away from Obama by pretending to sympathize with LBGT rights being handled at the state level instead of at the federal level, conveniently, hypocritically and unconvincingly countering telltale Republican stance of states first, as a criticism of the current Democratic administration's attempt to appease the masses by not forcing too rapidly change onto Jesusland.

Of course the answer is that the Supremes ought to tell the states to go fuck themselves on this issue as it is outrageous that state electorates get to vote on our human rights.

Meanwhile http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States it should be recalled here that "...in a 1996 newspaper interview, Obama stated "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages..."

Never mind that "... On May 9, 2012, Barack Obama became the first sitting U.S. President to publicly declare support for the legalization of same-sex civil marriage."

So it is disingenuous for SB to paint the president as not standing up for human rights for the LGBT community. And it is a perversion that SB should argue against his own politics to mock the politics of those he misperceives as his persecutors.
