meninlove said Meanwhile, Juan Williams says..
It's an opinion piece by Juan Williams. The fact is that some people were happy with their insurance policies and to get the same coverage is now going to cost MORE because they will have to pay for things they don't need. Liberals are trying to say it must be "substandard" but if you tailored your plan to cover what you NEED at a price you're happy with, what is wrong with that? Everybody doesn't NEED coverage for everything under the sun and to have to PAY for things you don't NEED kind of sucks, doesn't it?
The meninlove person is in Canada. He has no firsthand knowledge of what we are up against here.
Guess what? We have friends and relations there. Guess what? They speak with us about this. Guess what? They MATTER.
I'm guessing that those would be all of those "reasonable conservatives" you know, who just happen to agree with all of your Liberal opinions?
I'm also guessing that they, like me, buy their insurance in the individual market and have also gotten a letter from their provider canceling their coverage on Dec. 31 ?
I'm sure they, like me, are also not eligible for subsidies and are seeing their insurance cost going up by more than double?
I'm also sure that they, unlike me, think that this is all such a great idea that they are just clambering to support something that forces them to pay more for something they don't need or want?
My guess is that they also own businesses, like me, that will see their employees plan canceled next year because they were lucky enough to put off the cancelation date for another 11 months ? I'm also sure they, liked me, are having many sleepless nights about what to do for their employees come November 2014 ?
I'm sure they matter, but never mind those of us who knew this wouldn't work from the beginning and never mind those of us who will be shouldering most of the burden for this, because we don't know you and don't want to know you and therefore, we don't matter.
Maybe you resident RJ know it alls should spend more energy trying to fix Canada's Health Care System, which the IMF says is unsustainable.
Maybe you can do something about the long waits in the Canadian Emergency Rooms where Americans are told they would be better off if they went back across the border for treatment.
Maybe you can do something about the Canadians who come to Salt Lake City to go to the Huntsman Cancer Center (or other American facilities) because they don't have the time to wait for treatment in Canada.
Maybe you can do something about the people who buy medicine on the black market because they can't get it through the Canadian Health Care System.
Maybe you can do something to help the people in the small towns that have to be drawn from a lottery to see a doctor on his annual visit to the area.
Maybe you could work on doing something about the Doctor shortage in Canada so that patients don't have to be drawn from a lottery to fill the limited number of patients a doctor is able to see.
Some of us know people in Canada too, and as you said they "Matter".
At least there is a bright side, you know everything and have all of the answers and will be announcing you new book to tell everyone else what they should think and how to live their lives! If it serves no other purpose, it surely will lay out exactly how many topics, issues and opinions you are experts on and have empirical data on if not actual experience in, because, frankly I've lost track.
Enjoy your day, and you will let us know sometime how burdensome it is to be right all of the time.
