Comic books and novel covers have gotten the same complaints for years. Female characters are rendered in these suggestive, body-contorting poses. Joss Whedon specifies that his heroines not be drawn with enormous bolt-on racks. The fantasy author Jim Hines recently did a photo series where he recreated the poses that women on book covers are drawn in. At best, he included that most of them were painful. At worst, they were physically impossible. The basic conclusion is that if a man looks ridiculous doing it, then women shouldn't be depicted that way.
