After being away for a week I needed to get back into my routine. Now I have a cold and have only gotten there once. This sucks!

yeah, i know!!! try doing some light calesthinics at home - psychologically you'll feel better, and the exertion will be good for your immune system

Go anyway, it'll make you get better faster.
Half the people in a gym on any given day are sick or allergies acting up or tired....man up, NoName. icon_cool.gif

Yeah you should just keep yourself active doing light work. Stay away from the gym if you don't feel up to it. Your immune system is already working on getting you better, to stress it out even more by working out will just cause you to get worse. It won't be the end of the world if you miss a few more days, but those two days are nothing if you get worse and miss two weeks b/c of it. Watch your nutrition hard and get plenty of rest and liquids.

If it's a head cold, keep going but take it easier than you normally would.

If it's a chest cold (i.e. coughing), then chill out for the week. The gym will always be there; if you keep going with a chest cold, the cough will always be there too. icon_smile.gif

Whenever I work out while I am sick I always feel much, much worse and it seems to take longer to get better. Maybe it's psychological..

that is some of the worst advice.

not only are you going to get everyone else sick but it most certainly won't help you get better quicker, it will prolong how sick you are though.

staying active and healthy will help you from getting sick but its not gonna help you if you are already sick.

    get rest
    get fluids
    get better
