I find it incredibly comforting that not all people in this world agree with the liberal policies of America's Democrats as they (Democrats) envision them. As a case in point, come visit me in Switzerland. If you are here for more than two weeks you will have to purchase health insurance. Swiss health insurance. We don't accept ObamaCare. If you cannot afford Swiss health insurance then you must simply return home. We Swiss are not going to provide you with health insurance. The primary differnce of course is the level of personal responsibility we demand of the individual.

Healthcare in America unfortunately has nothing to do with self responsibility. As an example, one could, and many do. choose to drop out of high school at age 16 and spend the next few decades, drinking like the common alcoholic, smoking dope, snorting cocaine and smoking two packs of cigaretes per day ....then demand those Americans who choose not to live such a life pay the tab for your poor health. Democrats after all love supporting such individuals and in fact depend on them for votes.

Unfortunately that does often appear to be 90% of RJ members. The mouth may be loud, but fortunately the overall percentage in the population is low. For now. That gives one the time to prepare for what is coming.

Damn that Nanny government you seem so proud of. I'm trying to imagine that federal law in the US. icon_lol.gif

Here's more. (cs you're such a liar, lol!)

'Under the Federal Health Insurance Act of 1996, Switzerland possesses a universal coverage system where the purchase of a basic health insurance package is mandatory and regulated by the Federal Office of Public Health. Switzerland’s system utilizes a combination of regulation and subsidies to prevent insurers from discriminating against customers with pre-existing conditions and to ensure that everyone has coverage by providing subsidies for low-income citizens.'

People making minimum wage in the US can't afford food and housing without assistance, let alone healthcare. If what you're saying is true then wages must be more reasonable in Switzerland. The US is simply a much bigger country, founded on colonialism and slavery. We're in a different situation here. The rich have never been so out of touch with middle class and poor people. Case in point, the ridiculous video the OP posted which seems to imply that uninsured people are simply lazy. That's the propaganda that makes the GOP unelectable.

    Some corrections:

    1. In Switzerland, required purchase kicks in at 3 months, not 2 weeks. There are also limited exceptions.

2a. The Swiss model you talk about is "ObamaCare"; that is, in Switzerland you are required to have health insurance, else pay penalties.

2b. The Swiss model also allow for subsidies for anyone who would have to pay more than 8% of their income for health insurance. Much like ObamaCare.

For someone who is so proud of Swiss heritage, you are awfully incorrect about what Switzerland's policies are towards healthcare and health insurance.

I'm not TM or anyone else on that list.

I have one and only one identity here.

I've lurked for a long time, and joined last week.

Why is that hard for some here to understand?
