Pardon me for sounding a bit pessimistic but I've asked this question a few times but haven't received a concrete answer. I feel like I'm in school because I have been my whole life and have been taught I need an education. I work because I was taught one must work.

Do you believe there is a point to life?
Do you believe in life after death?
Do you you believe everyone has a life purpose?
What do you believe is your life purpose?

Edit: I'm not depressed or anything I would simply like to know if there is a purpose for this thing called life....

Well I have a pretty busy schedule which made me ask this question again, because I don't understand why I have to do the things I do and lets say it were possible for me to do even more yes that would distract me but not answer my questionicon_confused.gif

Because I, I know, one thing. There ain't nothing that could ever ease the pain. But for your line and mine. I want that loving again. Again.

    Silent sunlight, welcome in
There is work I must now begin
All my dreams have blown away
And the children want to play
They'll soon remember things to do
    When the heart is young
    And the night is done
    And the sky is blue

    Morning songbird, sing away
Lend a tune to another day
Bring your wings and choose a roof
Sing a song of love and truth
We'll soon remember if you do
    When all things were tall
    And our friends were small
    And the world was new

    Sleepy horses, heave away
Put your backs to the golden hay
Don't ever look behind at the work you've done
For your work has just begun
There'll be the evening in the end
    but till that time arrives
    You can rest your eyes
    And begin again

--- No, there is no point to life, other than the natural will to survive.
--- I do not believe in a heaven, a hell, nor a life after death (hereafter).
--- No, I do not believe that we have a life purpose, other than survival.
--- Survival. I believe that it's a natural, animal instinct.

    Holy crap.. icon_eek.gif

I'm reading some of the posts above and I have to say wow..!

..Life 'as we know it' is the most significant event we will ever experience.

.. Human life is accompanied by the power of ideas, and limitless opportunity.

We have the ability to change the world because of life.

We belong to the same species that put men on the moon, built great empires and saved the lives of billions through medicine.

Life is just about the greatest gift ever in the history of time.

..So many of us are only alive..
Very few of us are truly living.

I believe we are one of the multi-trillion generational cycles of "life" that will lead into the next leap in evolution, then the next leap after it, then the next leap, until we reach Godhood

I don't think there is any actual point to life on earth, so just do what makes you happy and doesn't inter ere with the happiness of others. I don't go for all this religious rubbish, I mean if you think about it, when you die there is nothing, not a thing you are just dead and gone. That puts a whole new spin on life.

It's a painfully unanswerable question and one of the reasons I like "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" so much.

As far as getting though your day is concerned, these questions hardly need to come up.
So forget about them and just get on with it.

These are the questions many ask themselves at least once in their life time. I did in the past

Do you believe there is a point to life?
My skeptical part of thought says 'NO'
    My logical part says 'Yes'
The way I see it, you'll understand the point of life only when you live for others instead of yourself. The more you work for others, the more you'll understand

Do you believe in life after death?
    Yes & No
However, I avoid asking myself about the questions of the future which I know that 'I cannot know'; and I'll know when the times comes.
I mean why worry the present on thinking about the unknown future, right?

Do you you believe everyone has a life purpose?
Yes! The purpose of everyone's life is to serve others and not oneself.

What do you believe is your life purpose?
    I have answered this above...

I agree that it's just better not to think about it because a concrete answer doesn't exist.

Do you believe there is a point to life? It's possible
Do you believe in life after death? It's possible
Do you you believe everyone has a life purpose? It's possible
What do you believe is your life purpose? N/a

the purpose of life is to put your dick in as many vaginas as possible (technically)

    so life is pretty pointless.

i dont ask questions to which there are no answers.

I do not believe there is a concrete answer. I believe life is art; it's what you make of it. Spend your life expressing yourself and get through the crap you have to do.

I believe just to do your best and be happy whatever that takes and to be a good person since we all have to live on this earth. Some of us are gay, bisexual, trans just to make life interesting. Difficult for many but maybe we are yes...here to learn and wonder "what is life." There are no easy answers. Everything is open to interpretation.

What do you mean by "purpose" or "point to life"? I'm not being funny, I'm seriously asking what you mean because you're asking a big question. I have MY purposes, things that are meaningful to ME. Different living things can have different purposes to other living things (food, symbiotic relationships, etc.). But you're asking about the "purpose" of life on earth -- which, I assume, means life in general, not the life of any particular person or thing. So, purpose in what sense of the word? Purpose to whom? To itself? To "God"? To the "universe"?

What I can tell you is this: All living things are energy transformers. Life on earth transforms energy from different sources; The earth itself is being transformed by living things.

Now, whether or not that transformation is "purposeful" depends on what you mean by that.

So I can't answer #1 till I know what you mean.

    Beyond that:

"Do you believe in life after death?" I believe SOME form of consciousness survives the death of the physical body (in some but not all humans) but it may bare very little resemblance to the consciousness we have while IN a body.

"Do you you believe everyone has a life purpose?" If they want one, yes.

"What do you believe is your life purpose?" To occasionally awaken to and manifest higher levels of consciousness.
