Ja'mie King -- you know you're in for something good with that spelling -- graces us with her return to television. On HBO, not one of those basic cable stations that poor people and lesbians watch.

Marvel as the amazing Chris Lilley vanishes into character and truly becomes the most horrible teenage girl ever.

I can't wait to watch this! I LOVED Summer Heights High, so this will probably be just as, if not more hilarious. icon_biggrin.gif

His performance reminds me of how The Kids In The Hall could create these completely believable female characters. He never overplays to the point that she becomes a drag act. That girl exists.

Ja'mie is amazing. I know a lot of critics have called it homophobic, misogynistic, racist etc etc but it's absolutely hilarious.

She reminds me of so many gay men I've met over the years it's scary icon_lol.gif

She was hilarious in "We can be Heroes" too. The episode when she visited one of the 85 african children that she sponsors in the detention centre was very funny! icon_biggrin.gif

It's not as good as Summer Heights High (in my opinion) - I mean it's ALL Ja'mie - but it's still bloody funny.

I loved her in Summer Heights High too (but it featured that highly annoying Jonah character though). icon_neutral.gif

Question: How do you spell keesh? Quiche?

I don't think Ja'ime would consider a quiche, in the food sense - like a pie made with eggs - attractive, especially given her past 'eating disorder'.

Someone get Chris Lilley on the phoine? (that's how you spell phone in Australian accent)

I'm so pulling for the lead lezzie boarder girl -- with the aid of Ja'mie's hysterically spiteful lil' sis -- to beat this bitch out for that fucking medal.

I watched the first episode and I didn't find it funny! Do I need to keep on watching it to understand the humor?

I blame a lot of my misunderstanding on my American upbringing on what comedy should be.

Half the fun is beholding a grown man as a teenage girl attempting to seduce a clearly mortified young man. Seriously, Ja'mie dances like a deeply offended Tibetan yak.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Lilley and his young cast members do a fair amount of improv.

The little sister is a real gem. "It's going on YouTube, bitch!"
