I know I've posted on this forum before regarding my hair loss and receding hair line, so I hope I'm not excessive. Anyway, my hairline has gotten worse. Also, the hair on top is starting to shed a lot more than usual and not look as thick. The last time I was at the barber, he noticed my hairline and joked to me that he could shave it off since I was going to be bald in a few years anyway... It's something I'm self-conscious about and buzzing it might make it less noticeable, but idk if I can pull it off. Based on my account pics, do you think I could pull off the bald or buzzed look?

    Here is an idea..

    Gradually go shorter..

You'll figure out when to stop and see what's best for you.

Just do it. It's gonna feel weird for a few days. But you'll get over it real quick. Especially when everyone comes up to you and starts rubbing your head. When I first shaved my head, family, friends, co-workers.. wouldn't leave me alone. icon_lol.gif

Kind of hard to tell how it'll look. Might look good. Please don't do the compensation thing with facial hair. That's obvious and shows you're self- conscience. Ever take a long trip like backpacking in south America or Europe? Try it then when no one you know will see you and you can get used to it or let it grow out some just to experiment. Think Andre Agassi. That might be your look.

I think you would look really good. You are a good looking guy and you'll have no problem pulling it off. Cut it really short (#1) and just go with. The good thing is that that look is really hot now.

My hair started thinning a LOT when I was around your age too, but it stopped. I like the short look and it is great not having to worry about in the morning out of the shower.

I don't completely shave mine. I buzz it down to 1/2 inch. You might try buzzing it with clippers and just gradually take it shorter and shorter until you get more comfortable.

You'll look awesome with very short or a shaved head. Keep the facial hair sexy.

Going by your pics, you'd look better with a buzz cut, and keep your facial hair its a good look.

Go bald all at once. You'll love it. Advice: wait to do it until warm weather is back. Tip: use the Gillette Fusion 5-blade razor on your head. You'll never have any nicks and your head will be smooth as a baby's ass.

Go for it. You'll look great. Keep your head and facial hair the same length. Lots of guys with plenty of hair buzz their heads just for the look, after all.

This. Don't take it all off all at once. Going shorter gradually will help you make sure you've got the head shape to pull it off (no, not everyone can) so you don't feel like you've made a big mistake.

Don't underestimate your own sexy, TSG.

Shave it all off. If you don't like it, let what will grow back...grow back.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I'm still thinking about it but I'll probably do it this week or next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Lots of good advice already from GAMrican and others. First you are a good lookin dood, so not only will whatever you do be cool but you will set a trend for others who wanna be look as good as you. Second, you have a slightly high forhead but it doesn't seem to be receding. But maybe you have stuff going on in the crown? Anyhow...however you style your hair you SHOULD still use a propecia or other stuff to prevent further loss. We don't have a cure now, but we might some day, so it is smart to keep what you got even if you choose to shave it off. Third, I'd also go to a stylist for the winter who will thin your hair (you seem to have really thick hair), and gradually shorten it. Then in april or may when it gets warmer, take the plunge and shave it if you want to. TRUST me, a bald head in winter, even in mild california winters, is hella cold unless you are really used to it. Fourthly, it is really important to use sunscreen on your forehead. The head gets beaten up by sun in the worst way, and the end result of it is splotchy skin. Not a pleasant look for anybody.

I think a close buzz looks a lot better than cue balls, even for guys with advanced hair loss. I see a lot of bald guys around and wish they'd let whatever they have grow out, just a tiny bit. The world should be all about what I want, right?
