Is there any other gay republicans out there? I tend to look past the issue of right wings historically not accepting gay marriage as I believe in so many of the conservative policies. Am I the only one?

There are plenty of gay republicans, most of us are just not insane like the various sock accounts. I have yet to meet any partisan who believes 100 percent in any party dogma. This current republican party, the Ted Cruz and GW Bush crazy people party is not the one I would want to be involved with, but I do support fiscal responsibility, a flat tax and much much smaller government.

Why would anyone in the LGBT community be part of the GOP. The GOP has NOT ONCE ever support the rights for our community and have always blocked our rights.

But the GOP attacks the rights of ALL US gays. Yes we are many, and many of us would go to jail for being gay and having gay sex, according to GOP party platforms and the statements of its leaders.

And many of us would have no employment or housing security, as indeed is already true in most US States. And NONE of us would serve in the US military, or be able to marry or even have civil unions, or have hospital visitation rights, or inheritance rights, and on and on.

Yes, there are indeed many of us, and those many would suffer under greater GOP control of our government than they already have, especially at the State level. But that's something a non-US citizen like yourself wouldn't have first-hand knowledge of, would you? Just like your comically flawed understanding of our US history, that you're nevertheless always quick to lecture us about.

BUT, where were you when the battles were really tough (for the first 46 years of your life)? I was out already in 1969 and 1970 (back when folks really did go to jail) and not really gay, but it seemed a great cause to champion. I felt than that folks should be able to love whomever they wanted.

And this is when you yourself admitted in numerous posts on RJ that 1) everyone around you knew you were gay 2) you'd already had a fling .... something to do with swimming naked at your college pool turned into something 3) you admit that you had a 'plumping' problem when you were in the showers with the other boys. I never had that issue. So you got to ogle the boys without the baggage of being an out homosexual?

I believe in changing the GOP from the inside as I think we still need two or more viable political parties. I've been active in the GOP since high school. No I can't change the entire party by myself, but I feel that I have been able to change hearts and minds. To the right, I always self identify as gay although I'm not, but I've still done a lot of work over my many years to get the two sides to communicate and stop throwing arrows at one another.

I too was out in the 1970s, in fact 60s when people went to jail, got beat up, kicked out of family. I have been out my whole life - the first 6 years. I was out during the Gay Plague Era too, when many went into hiding, because it was nt safe due to all the fear, and I have to ask where was Art? Oh he was with one of his wives, not out yet, still living as a heterosexual male, and not a gay one.icon_rolleyes.gif

I think that's why I am so proud to stand under the banner of Bonafide Homosexual.

Based on your model, none of the guys younger than about 46 can speak about gay rights? Only YOU can? My last 18 years being an out gay activist don't count, because I got a late start? I think some guys here might want to dispute you on that point.

But today you only speak about your passionate support for anti-gay Republicans, Conservatives & Teabaggers. Where's the gay support & empathy there? If you ever were supportive of gay rights, what happened to it? When did you change into a Right Wing gay hatemonger?

You completely distort what I previously wrote to fit your agenda, but I'm not surprised. SOME people around me thought I was gay, but never said anything to me about it at the time, and I remained clueless. I learned about it decades later.

I was in fact approached on a couple of occasions when younger. Once in a men's nude swimming pool, and once in a restroom when I was 13 by an old creeper. I wrote about them here. I was confused and didn't know what it was about, and in later years I suppressed the memories. The recollection of the pool incident only returned to me after I had come out.

I don't see how those things are relevant to anything we're discussing here. Are you just throwing things against the wall to see what will stick? A typical Right Wing ad hominem tactic. When you're losing the argument, personally attack your opponent. You are at least consistent in your Right Wing behavior & beliefs.

"Based on your model, none of the guys younger than about 46 can speak about gay rights?"

You completely distort what I said.

    "ad hominem tactic"

Something you'd never ever do would you?

    "you're losing the argument"

What arguement? I didn't know I was in one.

"You completely distort what I previously wrote to fit your agenda, but I'm not surprised. SOME people around me thought I was gay,"

    What agenda?

I didn't distort anything that I know of. You've said repeatedly HERE that everyone else knew you were homosexual. I don't quite know how to define "everyone else", but certainly your family. You've also said that you had a control problem when around other neeked bois. Didn't that tell you something? And a theater major ... as we see frequently here.

"When did you change into a Right Wing gay hatemonger?"

Truly Bob, fuck you, seriously, fuck you!. You decry ad hominem attacks and then a paragraph or so later you pull this one.

MiL, there are a bunch of folks on here that are not gay. I've repeatedly said I'm none of the above ... no labels fit.

Get your facts right mate, your delusional. RJ admin has never forced one to leave! I simply did house work and cleaned my account, maybe gone on a holiday, had a break from the toxic waste the oozes out of many of you liberals; sorry to disappoint you possums; but you do like your pedestal little man.
