    I like to ask:

    1) Their name (duh!)

    2) If they are single or not (über important for me, as this sets the nature of our interaction)

    3) hobbies (to see if we have the same interests)

    4) what they are up to for the day (to show interest)

    5) occupation (out of curiosity and show interest)

I also like to know age (but I don't ask it unless asked mine, I think it's a sensitive question for some) and I also like to know what they are looking for ( but I don't because its too forward)

    What's your blood type?
When did you last have a nosebleed?
Have you ever tasted someone else's blood?
Have you ever drunk a cup of your own blood?
Never got to question 5, but I guess that would be about blood as well.

I do troll them a bit to see if they find it annoying or entertaining. If they find weird humour annoying, I know there is no chance we will get on. So I was being sort of serious.

Only one question: Are you pitching or catching. If you're pitching you're paying for the date.

-What's your favorite band/musician (and don't say "I dunno, everything!" cuz that's a cop out)

-Do you have any hobbies (what are they?)

-What was your best childhood memory

-Did you go to college, what was your major

-are you cool with vegetarian food?

But I mostly wing it, I prefer to let the conversation happen organically

Classic headline from the New York Daily News, when the first transsexual (Christine Jorgenson) returned from Denmark where she had the surgery:

"Man Goes Abroad and Comes Back A Broad".

    1. How well do you get along with your family?
    2. What do you like to do for fun?
    3. Would you say that you're adventurous?
    4. Where did you go to college?
*** this isn't a deal breaker because some people worked really hard to their current position, which I respect...a lot.
    5. I've got a bunch of nephews and nieces that I completely love and adore. What's your take on gay men becoming parents? Would you ever become one?

I would. Things can always change in the future, but if they didn't, so be it. I'm fine with just the two

Well, there are blind dates and dates that resulted from meeting someone at a party or bar. Very different dates result from each.

However, even blind dates have come from somewhere that you already know you have core elements in common, I would imagine? Like this site for instance. I would only connect with someone who keeps in shape, has a routine, thus, we could open the conversation about working out, eating habits, that sort of thing.

Generally, I'm looking at their body language during our conversations, this helps feel out exactly what we discuss. I don't think many dates play out with Q&A however.
That would just be an awful date, I think.

I've been fairly shocked during some dates only to discover that a LOT of guys are totally boring.

They work in finance and when they describe their day-to-day work duties, I just feel super sad for them.

    Hobbies?

Most guys look at me like I'm crazy when that topic comes up!

In general, guys in NY and LA at least... hang out with their friends. They love going to dinner. Most don't work out or awkwardly describe what little athletic activity they actually do. They spend a lot of time with family. Read. ...and that's about it.

I rarely come across a guy who plays an instrument, speaks several(or more than one languages), has a creative job that sounds intriguing... and hasn't taken up having sex with every guy that moves as his hobby of choice.

...and if I DO meet someone in passing who is interesting, deep, creative, and sexy... they're taken and happy!
Or they live in another country and are in NY for the night, wink wink. If I had a nickel.

Top 5 questions I usually ask my dates.

1/ Your occupation, what do you do for a living?

2/ Are you out to friends and family? Do they know?

3/ What are your interests? or do in your free time?

4/ Are you looking to just date, hook up or a ltr?

5/ Tell me about your family background, where you grew up and any pet peeves you might have!

    Lol, sounds like interview questions!

The whole top/bottom thing if the guy brings up, I think he's a little rude and just wanna get laid!

Aristoshark saidI don't interrogate my dates. I chat. I try to have fun. Interrogations, if they come at all, happen much, much later.
