Rhomboid strain

    I think I have a strained right rhomboid. Seeing a doc at the end of next week. It's an old trouble spot that seems to have flared over the past month. Probably from over-doing.

    My question is: what lifts should I definitely avoid until this heals? I guess lat pull downs in all their variations are out, as well as rows. But it seems like a lot of other lifts engage the rhomboids secondarily without my realizing it right away. Suggestions?

    If it's really painful, I would suggest not working out the upper body until you see your doctor. Maybe focus on stretching/massage instead?

    Be careful there are a lot of exercises that hit that secondarily

    Maybe see a specialist -- Orthopedics/sports medicine OR, if you want to do it cheaply and it's not that complicated an injury, the doctor's assistant. They can probably advise you on what best to do and how long to lay off.
