I've always wondered why there are so many "older men" threads and race threads. I mean what's there to argue about? Noticed a couple of very revealing posts recently. They came from this thread http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/3505873?forumpage=4, which insinuates a pattern of rich/old gay TV writers negatively stereotyping minorities more so than straight writers. Is that why old guys seem to have a dog in the fight when it comes to race threads?
brodyg saidRace threads are useless without discussing the motives at play in race threads
gooddaytoday saidbrodyg saidchristastic saidAmazing that a thread exists for this LOL, ah google...
I had a conversation with a friend last night who was saying the exact same thing about Glee, 2 broke girls, American horror story, etc.
The friend was saying that in Toronto, they have a gay clubbing event called Asian Express, created ironically by an old white guy. Ostensibly a night for Asians who like Asians, in practice many guys who go there are actually potato queens looking for rice queens, and old white men looking for said potato queens.
So it's not that hard to imagine that it's in the interest of older gays to keep certain races segregated and devalued, to maintain some access to younger meat lol.
THIS is why race threads are always full of argument and why most of the white participants in such threads are old, because they have a stake in maintaining inequality.
This is disgusting, and true. Very few people on RJ are actually racist, but many benefit from racism.
