Guess Who’s Furious Over Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade’s ‘Kinky Boots’ Performance?

"The ppl criticizing the Kinky Boots performance as being 'inappropriate' need to ask themselves: how is promoting tolerance inappropriate?

    *Sigh*

I'm glad the closed-minded continue to reveal themselves.

That was such a G-rated performance, too. Clearly, they hate Transgender people and would ridicule even a conservative transgender person if they saw them in public.

Why don't closed minded conservative losers just read the bible and turn off the TV?

    Cute, but that's a dodge.

I was sitting in a room full of very gay men on Thanksgiving watching the Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Special and all of us were wondering... where exactly is this supposed to appeal to children? Is it Lady Gaga singing "Applause" in her g-string, or is it the RuPaul cameo?

Programmers seem to have lost the narrative a little bit when it comes to family-targeted entertainment.

I read about that (Gaga and the Muppets) and on that one I agree.

Watch for Miley's wrecking ball float at next year's parade. At least she's straight.

Even if she repeatedly grabs her crotch and licks her ears, AT LEAST SHE'S STRAIGHT! Madonna for the prepubescent set.

There are some things I'd like to see remain wholesome. That parade is mostly for children, and I honestly think doing a sexual skit is inappropriate. The word "kinky" should not appear in the Thanksgiving Day Parade. And once again. we're being represented by drag queens, which I will never understand.

Nothing specific about Kinky Boots. But I caught part of the parade on TV and wondered why I was watching a bunch of musicals, and not a bunch of floats/balloons.

I was just annoyed at the numerous sing/dance routines.

More show biz and less parade. Interesting.

Dear Conservative America, I am curious how this was OK on the Lucy Show way back when.

With a little history from 40 years ago or so when things were much more conservative, it's easy to see there's oddness to these complaints.

More history for you young guys. The haters are mad because you may get 100% equality.

They certainly had no problem with this! (Donny and Marie Osmond, Mormons, prime family time variety show.) Isn't history fun?

Watch this and listen to the dialogue:

Yes I feel the same way. Now I have to explain to my young niece and nephew (2nd grade / kindergarten) that I don't wear high heels and dress in women's clothing, nor does that have anything to do with being gay. This sets us back, not forward at all. People don't like having things like this pushed in their face.

Here is a comment that I think is right on target:

Let parents decide when to discuss certain topics with their kids instead of springing it on them in Macy's Parade.

Bigotry is passed down from parents. Tolerance needs to be taught by the village, as it were.
