Ok so i don't know where to post this topic so i'll just post it here.

i was watching an interesting video clip online talking about 2012 (end of the world blah blah blah). So anyways an interesting theory came about how we are now in the beginning stages of a geomagnetic reversal and how a large movement of the poles in a short period of time combined with a predicted record breaking solar storm that is supposedly going to happen in 2012 will cause peoples pineal gland in the brain to secrete dimethyltryptamine which is a hallucinogen secreted under certain circumstances including while under an altered state and at birth and near death. So if this were to happen on a massive scale people would basically be running around having visions of who the hell knows what. So the world really isn't ending, we are all just going to go crazy.

i found this very interesting and not that i believe all this hocus pocus but i was just wondering what your thoughts were on this and whether or not you believe it.

My thoughts: What the hell can we do about it if it does happen? No more thoughts...except just live life to the fullest boys. Whether it's Jesus coming on a white horse or all of us just seeing it because we've gonce crazy, it could all be over any moment. As far as I can tell from my glances at Fox News...we're already going crazy. Appreciate what you have and take advantage of the opportunities presented to you!

Funny but the Mayan calendar also figures that the world will end in the very same year icon_sad.gif

i dont know...some funky light show and reality turned on its side might be somewhat interesting. if we still have a consumer based economy and mindset in 2012 and everyone is still packed in the malls on the weekends, then i say bring it on (the light show), hallucinations, and whatever else.

but scientifically i think its BS and there will no doubt be tens of thousands of panic stricken, ignorant loons who all commit suicide and blow things up around the planet....i think we have more to worry from the paranoid humans than from nature.

Since no one understands what causes a geomagnetic reversal and no one has ever witnessed one, I wonder how anyone could possibly have decided that we're about to have one??????

Actually, geologic evidence suggests that the earth's magnetic field is abnormally low for about 10,000 years (that's TEN THOUSAND YEARS) before and after a geomagnetic reversal. So, if you notice tomorrow that the earth's geomagnetic field is abnormally low (which it isn't today), then maybe we'll have a reversal ten thousand years from now. Or maybe not.

As for the pineal gland theory, that's pure bullshit. While DMT does exist in the body in trace amounts and is hallucinogenic, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that it is secreted by the pineal gland, or that increased solar radiation would stimulate overproduction. The reason the pineal gland became part of this little spook story is probably because its function was unknown until relatively recently, its location deep within the brain has historically led to much superstitious speculation as to its function, and it has often been associated with paranormal and metaphysical properties by occult con artists and their gullible followers.

This happening again?!? the Earth shifted this way awhile ago and the continents broke apart and everything!

Just look at this example from 1999!

"We could expect the same duration of continuing planetary effects to coincide with, and follow, the pole shift in 2000-2001"

....and so it goes year after year, with different groups foretelling this catastrophe with ever-changing dates once the predicted date passes without incident.icon_rolleyes.gif

    Coincidence? I think not.

I actually read another theory about 2012 that is completely different from everyone hallucinating and going loco. So according to the Mayans, a huge cataclysm will occur on December 21, 2012. Something about cosmic shifting, poles aligning, blah blah blah. But those crafty Mayans didn't predict the end of the world, but a start to a new era.

I can't remember where else I read this, but apparently once it hits 2012, everyone will develop new weird senses, become smarter and evolve into greater beings, kind of like in "Heroes". I hope I get ice powers!

    Sadly, true.

I'll go back to my bunker and wait for Mike Brown to get some sense or have a debilitating injury.

What sucks is that it's suppose to end on December 21, 2012 which would be 6 weeks after the election. Can't they just end it in January and save us another grueling Presidential campaign? Sheeesh?

end of the iron age, begining of aquarius...a much more "enlightened" era starts..the only negative that has and is happening is due to the shift of conciousness...the veil is becoming more thin...we are about to embark upon a beautifull new timeicon_wink.gif

Does anyone remember the millenium bug? I set the date past 1999 on my old computer and it worked fine with the old code....

I think everyone wants the world to end, so they can be all cool and be like, "yeah, i was there when the world ended... i'm cool... yeah...."
