Embarrassed again with the reminder that the majority of my fellow Californians voted for a moron body builder and grade B movie star for governor.

And he wasn't even handsome, and plenty of other bodybuilders of his peers had much better physiques.

I'm fascinated by the bodybuilding forum GetBig (a very gay name), which is beyond stupid and encapsulates everything horrible and callow about hetero men. It's basically just a bunch of straight guys who obsess over other men in posing straps, constantly call other people fags, and fixate over men being paid for sex.

Choice quote from bodybuilder Tom Prince after geting razzed by legions of muscle boys for posing nude for Colt:

"How can it be gay if I'm alone?"

    Great collection.

    12. "If a man tells you he doesn't lift because he doesn't want to get too bulky, then his testicles have been removed." - Paul Carter

    33. “To feel strong, to walk amongst humans with a tremendous feeling of confidence and superiority is not at all wrong. The sense of superiority in bodily strength is borne out by the long history of mankind paying homage in folklore, song and poetry to strong men”. - 'Dr. Squat' Fred Hatfield.

    57. "There are no shortcuts. The fact that a shortcut is important to you means that you are a pussy." - Mark Rippetoe

    75. "Did you ever notice those who criticize the strong or the elite are usually weaker or less successful than those they pass judgment on. And those who are strong or elite in their respective sports rarely condemn those who are not as strong or as successful as they are." - Louie Simmons

    84. “You’ve got to block out all distractions when you train. Your focus has to be 100% into the rep. You’ve got to get into a zone. You know you’re in the zone when guys in the gym look you in the eye and then quickly turn away ’cause they see the fire. You’ve got to be all business.” - Mike Matarazzo

I'm always amused by how bodybuilders are saying stuff like they think what they're doing is making a difference to the world. Nope; you're making yourself big and strong and muscular and nothing else. Just because it's hard doesn't make it special, except to you.

You obviously have a chip on your shoulder. I don't think bodybuilders think what they are doing is making a difference. I think they have passion for what they are doing and find camaraderie in like-minded individuals, like anyone of any hobby.

I personally find the effort put forth by bodybuilders to achieve such physiques and strength laudable. It is a hell of a more boastworthy achievement than "living the lazy life" (as per your profile).

My favorite Arnold scene/quote from Pumping Iron. This should be like Rule #1 at every gym..

"You make too much noise! Has to be very quiet in here, like in a Church!"

The music in the video is very porny.

I don't think porny is a word. But there you have it.

Yeah, he handled the whole Colt thing very well. It's too bad he ran into health issues so early in his career.
