Maybe not so significant, now that all the airlines are retroactively reducing the value of accumulated frequent flyer miles (United's Star Alliance being the worst offender recently), but Delta takes the abuse of its frequent flyers to a new extreme. Delta called a platinum level frequent flyer and told him that he was being kicked out of the program, and all his accumulated miles were being taken away, because he complained too much. He is suing, but one should not expect our business friendly supreme court (corporations have the same rights as people) to decide against Delta.

We are coming full circle in the airline business, back to just having a few carriers. i don't think it's a good idea to have 3 or 4 mega carriers, that's less competition which translates to higher fares. And the employees also end up suffering. Speaking of Delta, I just read that they may be buying Alaska Airlines(another one bites the dust).
