I'm definitely a cat person, but I love dogs as long as I'm not the owner.

It depends on your living situation.

Here on the farm, dogs and cats both have their jobs to do, and a good environment to live in.

However, I would never keep a dog in an apartment, or any place without a decent yard. Cats seem more adaptable to that sort of thing, but I find it hard to imagine living with a litterbox inside a small space.

No, i mean dogs... i HATE them. UGH NASTY, slobbering, stinking, wretched creatures!

from the smallest chihuahua to the biggest mastif (ps, a mastif guards the gate of Hell) i hate them all.

I actually have rules for guys i will date, one of those rules is that they cannot have a pet dog.

No... dogs are foul stupid creatures who only like the people that feed them.

My preference is toward the big cats though. Jaguars are my favorite animal, and the most efficeint killer of any animal considered a mammal other than humans.

But i like the little cousins as well. Any animal who has been worshipped by many cultures throughout antiquity is cool in my book. Any animal that killed rats and mice and helped keep the plague in check is cool with me.

And any animal that is smart enough to look at you like you are stupid when you need something to haul your butt through the snow is cool with me!

Cats, or tiny dogs. Something I can kick with ease when it annoys me, or pick up with ease when I wanna play with it.

    Dogs, dogs & Only dogs

They are more responsive, more affectionate and more fun.

You can run with a dog, while the lazy cat is napping.

A dog will protect you, while a cat will just want to be waited on.

A dog is loving, while a cat is pure selfishness personified.

Petting a dog has benefits, it lowers your blood pressure.

Dogs are not foul, disgusting or stupid......it all depends on the training they get from their owners.

Above all dogs are loyal. And they can fetch too.......

(these are my opinion, you may beg to differ).

Get a dog, is my advice.

Well, in my family, we try not to force such stereotypical roles.

The cat drools far more than the dogs, and his farts smell worse.

One of the dogs always wants to curl up in my lap (though she's far too big) and purr.

They all "dog" me around the place.

They all answer to their names.

Sometimes they cooperate in hunting, and even chasing deer out of the yard.

    Everyone enjoys a belly rub.

I'm much more of a dog person, though I do like the occasional cat. Cats can be really great and all, but I just don't find them nearly as much fun as a dog.

And not a small dog. If you want a small animal you might as well just go with a cat instead of a little yapper. I like medium sized to big dogs. I want a husky so bad! They're fantastic dogs.

That being said, I don't know if I would want either one, because I enjoy apartment living and I can't deal with animal hair. People tell me that you get used to it, but I think I'd rather not.

As a once and future dog owner and a present cat owner, I think this sums things up nicely.

A dog looks at the humans who feed them, love them, keep them warm and dry and thinks, "They must be gods!"

my cat sleeps in my bed, follows me around the house, runs to the door when i come home, chases the dog around and vice versa, and gives me affection.

my roommates dog barks at anyone outside, is hyperactive, pisses when people come over, doesn't clean himself, and needs to be taken out.

i think my choice is clear.

For me, dogs are too demanding of attention, but I can certainly understand people's desire to have the greater engagement that dogs offer. I just really appreciate the greater independence of cats.

And, out here in the country, dogs get covered in big fat bloated ticks, and it would really gross me out if I had to deal with that. Our kitties bring ticks into the house, but the only place the ticks are ever able to dig in for a meal is around the ears, where there's no long slippery fur, and I always pull them out when they're still tiny.

The cat hair doesn't bother me. The worst part is cleaning up all their horked up hairballs and animal entrails.
